Tayhart Photography Welcome to Tayhart Photography! I love capturing real life for memories that last a lifetime!

08/04/2022

This is long ya’ll, and it may be a lil’ scattered at times, but if you’d like to know the full scoop, here it is.

Long story short…

I have decided to close my books for the time being. (If we have a session booked, this in no way affects your session!)

While I know that I don’t owe anyone an explanation, I do feel the need to share a little bit as to why I’ve decided to take a step back because a lot of you have been invested in my journey!

If you don’t know, I’m a mom of 6 kiddos ages 7 - 19. My oldest has graduated and my second just graduated. The last few years of business has been AMAZING with so many incredible clients, but I found myself feeling very overwhelmed by my work and that I wasn’t able to spend the quality time with my family that I wanted or give my clients the best of me that I can.
My health over the last 6 months has shifted and made my actual sessions very painful and recovery time from even the shortest session can last for days. This along with my daughter’s health issues as well as my dad’s, has made me want even more the freedom to be called upon and able to help at the shortest notice.

My heart is to give my clients the attention, creativity, love and care to the best of my ability and at this time, as much as I hate to admit it, I am not able to do that.

Thank you for understanding and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! I love connecting with all of you!

Please keep an eye out on my social media for announcements and updates as my family and I are navigating this time in our journey.

Much Love,

Tarin🖤

On the road again…the fam bam is headed to some of our favorite people in all the whole world! MT here we come and to say that I’m thankful for a good coffee in about 30 min is an understatement!🙈😂 Being up at 5:15 isn’t my cuppa, so a big ol’ cuppa can’t come soon enough!

Are you an early riser or a sleep until you wake up kinda person? I’m sure it’s age related (🙄) but very rarely can I ever sleep in anymore. My “norm” is anywhere between a little before 6 to 7. I will say that I’ve had to be more intentional about when I go to bed. You keep me up too late (like anything after 10🙈) and I’m shot for days! Gotta love this whole getting older thing, because I’m still wake up in the same stinkin’ time frame no matter how late I’m up.😭 Anyway! Enough of the rambling! Check out this sweet fam!😍

I don’t know if there’s a much bigger compliment than your senior daughter saying that she wants you to do her senior pictures… but, now I’m thinking that she’s way too grown-up, and maybe I should have taken her to a playground and put her hair in pigtails!😭 As a parent I’ve found it isn’t easy to see your kiddos growing up, but at the same time it’s so rewarding and exciting to see them growing up. The conflicting emotions are so real! Don’t wish away the stages that your babies are in. They will go quickly enough. 😉 Toriana Hartman

Fall is one of my absolute FAVORITE seasons! The chilly evenings, flannels, toasty fireplace, warm sunshine hitting the colored leaves….ugh! Give me all the fall vibes! Also, can I just say how much I love working with Lacie Grapentine?!?! Oh, and her fiancé was awesome too!😉

Tell me your favorite season…if it’s winter, we may not be friends anymore…😉😂

Photographing kiddos is not for the faint of heart…mama’s I see you!

You try to capture your kiddos in the moment, but there’s crap all over and while you may have gotten the shot, you’re embarrassed to post it because of said crap….guess what, YOU’RE NOT the only mama thinking this!

Let’s be real. Life ain’t always put together when you’re raising kiddos.

There’s toys, and laundry, and trash, and the, “what in the heck is that?”, the hubby’s shoes, dishes in the sink, pieces of last nights dinner littering the floors…you get the idea.

Can I give you a little encouragement? POST THE PHOTO of that little one that you love so much in that moment!

No one cares about the mess and if they do, WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH? They’re not the ones trying to freeze a moment in time that YOU will never have again that you would love to share with your friends and family!

Also, other moms want to see they aren’t the only ones with a mess in the back ground. This is real life and if we never post real life, it’s going to limit our connection with others, our impact, and could even make us miss out on that kindred spirit friendship we thought we’d never have.

It just takes the courage to admit we aren’t perfect and let’s face it, we all know we aren’t anyway, so let’s get over ourselves and see what He can do with our real shall we?

🖤 Take the picture.
🖤 Ignore the mess.
🖤 Share the sweet moment.

Did you know it’s National Hair Loss month? No? Me neither! But I did learn a few things after finding out and sharing some of my fav black and whites of this stunning mama felt like the perfect set to go with what I learned, because if you’ve ever been preggers, you know the postpartum hair loss is the real deal.

Having been through my share of “traumas” over the years, I never knew until recently that giving birth, breast feeding, stopping breasting feeding, taking medication, changes in diet, hospital stays, stress, sickness, and messed up hormones can attribute to extreme hair loss.

👉🏻 The average person with a healthy scalp SHOULD shed 50 - 100 stands of hair a day.

That being said, there are three types of hair loss for women (and men), the most common being the “telogen effluvium”.

👉🏻 What causes telegenic effluvium?

• Extreme physical stress or shock to your body: This causes temporary hair loss. This category includes events like losing a lot of weight, surgery, anemia, illness and having a baby.

• Extreme emotional stress: mental illness, the death of a loved one, etc.

• An abnormal thyroid.

• Medications and supplements: blood pressure medicines, gout medicines and high doses of Vitamin A.

• Hormone changes caused by pregnancy, menopause or birth control pills.

When you experience a trauma, or shock to your system, you can expect to see repercussions 2 - 4 MONTHS later resulting in 70% of your scalp hair shedding off your pretty little head!🤯 I don’t know about you, but that’s mind blowing!

Knowing what’s causing your increased hair loss, whether diet, hormones, trauma, etc, is the start of your scalp/hair healing journey!

One thing I know for sure, using products that will keep your scalp healthy and free of build up will help stimulate your natural hair growth cycle, allowing the old hairs to shed off and new healthy hair to grow in!🖤

Love my jobs and how they both allow me to work in different ways. But, it wasn’t until I started thinking about ways each job is different, I realized that there are more similarities than there are differences! In each job I have the privilege of connecting with people that I otherwise would not have. I have the privilege of helping clients feel beautiful, both allow me to serve in different ways, both bring in an income, both have allowed me to travel and I’m sure there’s more, but I’m having a mental block.😂

The one thing I will say that is different between the two is that one is less intense and stress on my body. Even though I find so much joy in photography, it is physically challenging.

So, while I may not be taking as many clients because of the physical strain, I’m SO THANKFUL for the clients I have been blessed with that I am able to take on and SO THANKFUL for another stream of income that still gives me the opportunity to connect with amazing women, be creative and stretch myself in ways I never thought I should or could.
