To share the world through the window of our camera lenses. To show the extraordinary that we find in the ordinary things of life. The wonder of God's creation, a classic car, an airplane all hold the wonder and promise of a great image. We give thanks and praise for the Master artist who's creative spirit lives in all of us.

During my recent trip to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge I was able to spend some time photographing royal terns, American oyster catchers, and black skimmers in flight. I caught this one with a fish offering for a potential mate. It was a joy to watch and photograph these beautiful birds.

These photos are of Randy's c**t taken in early May of this year. Kara and I went out twice with Cruise Company during our spring trip to Chincoteague.

I photographed the courtship of this pair of royal terns a few weeks ago at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

This is a photo of me taken while I was on a boat trip to photograph the wild ponies of Chincoteague.
I used my Nikon D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm.

Thanks to Kara Chickering for being my partner on my adventures and for being my photographer.

I posted this image of Mayli's c**t everywhere else but neglected to post it on the Fly Away Home Studios page. So I'm posting it here now even though it will be out of sequence.

I photographed this beautiful foal while on a boat trip with Cowboy Cruise Company. Not sure of the gender but it's mother's name is Mayli. I love the pose, eye contact, the light and background in this photograph. Captain Hunter has been able to get me close enough to take portraits of ponies on every trip I've taken with him.

I photographed this black skimmer in flight at Chincoteague NWR last week. Still haven't had the opportunity to photograph one actually skimming but I suppose that's something to look forward to in the future.

I was able to photograph this beautiful Chincoteague pony named Bay Princess while on one of our boat trips to see and photograph them last week. I thought she was particularly beautiful. Thank you to Captain Hunter at Cowboy Cruise Co. He's great at getting me close to the ponies.

Kara and I just returned from a beautiful week away at Chincoteague Va. We took boat trips to see and photograph the wild ponies and I spent many happy hours photographing birds and other animals at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The mornings proved to have the best opportunities out on the beach and included this flight shot of an American Oystercatcher. I brought home photos of other shorebirds as well that I will share with you in the coming days.

John James Audubon: In his 1834 work The Birds of America, Audubon described the blue grosbeak as a "sweet songster". He noted that while they spent their summers in the southern states, they were "rather scarce" even then.

This is another shot of the blue grosbeak from last weekend.
