Downtown Dayton Wedding And Reception The Brightside Loft, Warehouse, And Bar - East Third Street
The Brightside Music & Event Venue Wedding Photos & Information
June 2026 Wedding At The Brightside
In June, 2026, I had the opportunity to photograph a lovely wedding and reception at The Brightside. As is usually the case at events I attend there, the wedding took place in the loft upstairs. The reception space was the larger downstairs warehouse area. Between the ceremony and the party was a cocktail hours in the bar area, perfectly situated between the loft and warehouse. It is a fairly small bar area considering how large the reception space is. Guest who don't want to wait in the bar area are always welcome to hang out on the patio.
I opted to share a few very meaningful photos from the day including the bride and her mom, the groom's first look, and a large group photo. In order to help you, a future wedding couple, I threw in a photo of the planning board The Brightside writes up for every couple. This is a great touch that lets everyone know the schedule of the day and when certain areas will be available or off-limits. Out of 260 weddings, this is the only place I've seen it. It isn't pretty, but it is a good reference document for the day.
One Potential Issue To Watch For
One issue that did come up is the limited outdoor space for taking formal photos. Everyone loves the shipping container with the Dayton skyline mural on it. However, in order to use this, several parking spaces must be vacant. Additionally, we had an issue with the catering company wanting to park right in front of it. Normally this would be fine, but we had a short time slot for photos. We were dodging the incoming storms. In the end, we finished, catering moved in, and the day went well.
The Brightside Music & Event Venue Address: 905 E 3rd St, Dayton, OH 45402
As a wedding photographer in Dayton Ohio, I really enjoy photographing weddings at The Brightside Music & Event Center just east of downtown Dayton. The Brightside is an eclectic wedding and reception venue literally just past the railroad tracks at 3rd Street and Webster Street.
