Mountains, desert or lakeside camping — which Arizona experience wins?

When most people picture Arizona, they picture cactus, red rocks and miles of desert. But that’s only one side of this state.

Drive a few hours and Arizona can completely transform. We have towering pine forests, flowing rivers, mountain towns, green meadows, snow, huge cliffs and landscapes that look like they belong somewhere else entirely.

This week on The Arizona Show, I’m taking you to 5 places in Arizona that don’t really feel like Arizona at all.

One has elk wandering through a little mountain community. Another takes you down a rough dirt road along the edge of a massive escarpment. One looks more like Colorado than Arizona. Another lets you drive from saguaros to pine forest in about an hour. And my final pick looks like it belongs on another planet.

I’m not giving away the locations here — you’ll have to watch to find out. 👀
