As a photographer, I like to stress the importance of being able to work with people on a personal level. I feel that my clients need to know about my background in order to feel confident with their decision to allow me to capture moments of their lives. I grew up in Madison, Ga and throughout my childhood I have had a profound interest in art. My passion for photography began late in middle scho
ol after a trip to China in 1999. My first camera was given to me by a previous employer who also shared an interest in photography. I was instantly hooked after looking through the viewfinder for the first time. I expanded my knowledge of photography through trial and error and by reading as many books as I could find. I joined the yearbook staff my sophomore year in High school and was allowed special access to all school events to hone my photographic skills. The next summer, I took a job with Camp Twin Lakes as the camp photographer. I would later help establish the first photo program at camp to try to spark the creative interest of any campers that were curious about photography. I studied photography for two years at Georgia Southern University and later transferred to the University of Georgia to finish my degree. While in school, I ran the darkroom for both GSU (2006) and for UGA (2008). I also worked for Wingate Downs Photography for four years while living in Athens. While working for Wingate, I managed the studio and photographed different jobs for him. Those experiences helped refine my skill set in photography and helped me learn how important a good personality is when creating a comfortable environment for the subject in front of the camera. I moved from Athens to Augusta in 2011 and started working for Michael O'Byrne Photography. Michael's studio was yet another new experience since his work was heavily based on formal portraiture. It gave me the unique opportunity to learn more about posing and lighting than what was ever taught at school. My varied background has given me the unique ability to cater to any clients needs and desires. From posed baby photos to a late night wedding receptions, I have had the opportunity to cover nearly every facet of photography during the last 15 years of shooting.
