I usually post what Album I'm playing but today I'm Starting out my day with Coffee and 45's. Recently, I was told by a dear friend how I got many of these Records. They were given to me when I was about 4 years old. I was a kid obsessed with Music, Piano and records. One of my earliest treasured gifts was a kid's record player. I have no idea what it was but it resembled an old Victrola and was Orange and White. I was given a bunch of records that were discards from a Radio Station in the early 60's., These records were well played, and I played them many times as a child on my little player and the Family Motorola Record player so they are not in the best of shape. Quality turntables and record care was not a consideration as a kid. I'm not even sure if they were available in area. Thankfully I've learned a few things over the years and have some great Albums but this morning I'm starting the long process of going thru these and logging them on Discogs. I'm cleaning them, playing them, and reminiscing. The oldest one I've come across so far is 1954. Lot's of Scratch and Surface noise but surprisingly, no skips so far. Most of the records are Promo's. I'm posting my journey for documentation and thought individuals may have had a similar journey growing up with 45's. I collected/Played them them pretty much through High School (1970's) before evolving to 8 tracks, Cassettes and then Cd's for my Car. The last few years I purchased an Audio-Technica System, and have accumulated several Albums from different genres. It's been a Sentimental Journey for sure.
