I have never seen smoke this heavy in our area. This is not fog, it’s the result of devastating wildfires.

The truly heartbreaking part is that families have lost their homes, and some have tragically lost their lives. Meanwhile, first responders continue to put themselves in harm’s way to protect their communities.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends to the north.

Be careful out there. Last night we were looking for a lost pet and noticed a bug on my arm, put the light on it and noticed it was a tick. This is the first time ever I have found a tick on me. So when we got home, I checked my grandson and this one was on his shirt.

Middle Point Fire & EMS was dispatched to a structure fire late this afternoon on Lincoln Highway near US 30 just east of Van Wert with mutual aid from Van Wert Fire Department, Delphos Fire Rescue, Scott Fire & EMS and Grover Hill Fire Department. Traffic control at the scene was coordinated by Van Wert County CERT

I have another escapee that we are unable to search for. His name is Charlie, one blue eye and one brown and he is missing from 33/ 127. Mercer area, close to Mercer truck stop. They are visiting friends here so it’s not his home area. If seen please call Ashley @ 419-953-2920

Delphos followers, we are currently unavailable to look for Gertie. She has been frightened and ran off from Fireworks within the last 45 minutes (10:30ish)

Close to the bean field by 30 and the creek 9th Street and 7th Street was near where she took off.
