There’s something sacred to me about slowing down long enough to really see someone.

Not just how they look —
but the feeling they carry.
The softness.
The contradictions.
The poetry of being human.

I think that’s why I photograph the way I do.

Only by the power of the Blood of Jesus can I show up for you as a photographer and storyteller. - I love you and I pray for you and when God works and moves He is humbling me and offers grace in the moments of flaw and challenge. Even when our expectations get thrown out of proportion, it was never about the result or outcome. But the process.

For Carla this shoot was simple, bohemian and grounded. When she showed me the river in her back yard and the flowers we stumbled on it made for a sweet moment. It was cloudy and rainy and I added a misty dreamy effect with my prism. As a mom and worship leader in a season of finding herself I loved the space we had to capture a moment of thought and reflection.

Did some re-edits from this little number in the archives—I’m obsessed with the Expand tool in Photoshop. It feels like these shots were just waiting to be expanded. Instagram loves a crop, but let’s expand so we can see the image as it was meant to be seen.
