Fanning the Flames of Flow State Joy

Last year at Lightning in a Bottle I recognized .wind.princess twirling an LED hoop in the dark, from when I captured her with silk fans on the beach 3 years prior (pictures 6-9). So we scheduled a photo shoot a couple days later embodying her professional side, her lover side and her sexy-carefree-dancing spirit.

But I'm a sucker for a sequel photo shoot, and we managed to link up again at the tail end of sunset for a wonderful reprise with the rainbow fans. The hallucinatory feel of the 2022 shots always made them special to me, yet the dreamy happiness of the 2025 shots pops with much more vivid emotion that really encapsulate her mood and how this reunion actually felt.

I saw the Speed Racer 4k remaster in imax this week and it was both like my cinematic Holy Grail and a religious experience for me. My body was literally vibrating by the end and I was overcome with visceral emotion and phantasmagoric sensory overload - particularly during the final race this article focuses on. So here's your reminder that the Speed Racer movie is a kinetic masterpiece unlike anything else, and if you love the visual style of my photography, you will be blown away by this insane film.

Bounty hunters, tech-freaks, augmented cyborgs, interstellar rogues and beyond - my favorite festival Neotropolis is less than two weeks away! Can't wait to return to the outer-rim adventures and galactic character convergence point of Keplar 609-C 🌌 By my measurements this /sci-fi immersive gathering is the coolest festival in the universe.

One of THE most iconic , El Pulpo Magnifico, will be blazing up a firestorm at the historic Peak State music festival outside of Austin, TX next week. Peaking Movie is Brent Pella Comedy's feature-length comedy set within a music festival, and the production includes filming at a real, super cool boutique festival they're throwing - which you can attend and be part of! If you've ever wanted to experience this jaw-dropping flaming octopus without attending , you can do so at this groundbreaking event that will become part of festival lore and culture forever. Im taking photos there the next couple weeks. Trust me, it's going to be PEAK 😎

Gonna start sharing shots from last year, I had such a blast returning here with so many of my friends. As seems to be the trend industry-wide, they reduced their art budget in the last few years so fewer interactive installations and no more theme camp stages, but the lineup really delivered and the spirit of adventure still ran strong.

1. This was a shot I had wanted since encountering these frogs at my last Lightning in a Bottle in 2022. I had hoped for another opportunity to capture this delightful totem properly, and the Woogie stage shade structures provided the perfect colorful backdrop

Happy belated birthday to my Goji OG, the Mothra to my and one of my favorite people, ! Always a goofy and magical time with this baddie. We had some awesome adventures at The Love Burn last month, including with as she immediately manifested an art car ride, and fulfilling our Godzilla dreams with a worship photo shoot at , which became one of my favorite art installations ever. Love you Clementine, here's to many more shenanigans and kaiju madness!

Come check out my photography installation Phenomena of the Festival Realm if you're attending The Love Burn! Only brought one of the two towers this year, but I'll be switching out two panels each day to keep it fresh. It's right on Arthur Lamb Road at my camp Love Burn Post Office (site 1108), a little west of the ferris wheel.

Get lost in more than 300 images across 16 different events I've shot the last seven years, showcasing festivalgoers in their most authentic expression, jaw-dropping art pieces and the magical culture of the Festival Realm - from huge fests to small boutique ones. Even if you've seen the installation before, I've changed up the images and made a new Love Burn panel and a color-changing RGB one with especially psychedelic imagery.

I'll be hosting photo story tours and doing instant-print photo portraits Thursday and Friday 3-4 pm (and whenever else I'm around), and also running laser tag games Thursday and Saturday 6-7 pm and Saturday night midnight-1 am during our final Post Office party. We also have a bar, music and Beyblade arena 😏 Two of our eight postcard designs feature my images from last Love Burn so make sure to grab/send one of those as well! 💌
