Lost in a Winter Wonderland!

As I was driving down Sheridan early yesterday morning, I noticed another halo around the moon. My first thought was, "You’ve already captured this a few days ago. It’s freezing, you’re unprepared, and you’re late for the gym." But then I passed Lakeside Amusement Park and thought, "Okay, okay, I’ll pull over for just a quick shot." And I’m so glad I did. The halo doesn’t last long—it shifts, changes size, and colors so quickly. It’s a reminder to always have your camera on hand and be ready to seize the moment. After all, great photographers don’t just capture the perfect shot—they take thousands of "throwaways" in the process. It’s all part of the game. Even my favorite of these three photos ended up being out of focus.. I kept it anyways!

Just wrapped up an epic 3-day solo photography trip! 🚗📸
Sadly It was a bit early for the aspens in the pass to be full of color.
The first two days brought perfect weather, but honestly, a little too calm for my liking. Day three, though? Mother Nature showed up with a wild mix of storms and sunshine, turning my day into an unforgettable experience. 🌦️

I camped under the stars on Independence Pass, then spent the whole day at Cottonwood Pass with my car backed up to the most incredible view. The two storms that rolled in were intense but made for some killer shots. And shoutout to the kind strangers who hooked me up with food when I ran out—saved the trip! 🍂
