There’s nothing quite like Callaway Daze in a small town!🎉

The annual Callaway Daze Parade is more than just floats and candy—it’s a hometown reunion where friends, neighbors, and families come together to celebrate the community they love. From local businesses and organizations to first responders, tractors, classic cars, and smiling faces, the entire town comes together to show its hometown pride.

With the upcoming Becker County Sheriff's election, parade-goers also had the opportunity to meet both sheriff candidates as they greeted residents along the parade route. It's one of the things that makes small-town events so unique—bringing neighbors, community leaders, and those seeking to serve the public together in one place.

In a world that moves so fast, traditions like these remind us why small-town living is so special. It's a day to reconnect with old friends, welcome familiar faces home, and celebrate the community that makes Callaway such a special place.

The Detroit Lakes Northwest Water Carnival wrapped up its 90th year with a BIG splash! 💦🎉

This year's parade celebrated the 1990s in honor of the Water Carnival's 90th anniversary, and the creativity, music, and community spirit were on full display. From colorful floats to families lining the streets, it was another unforgettable celebration.

And if you've ever been to the Water Carnival Parade, you know the one rule... be prepared to get wet! 😄💧 Water balloons, sq**rt guns, and plenty of laughter make this one of the most unique parades you'll ever experience.

A huge thank you goes out to the Detroit Lakes Jaycees, whose volunteers work countless hours throughout the year to organize this incredible community tradition. Events like the Water Carnival simply wouldn't happen without dedicated people willing to give back.

The Jaycees are always looking for new members! If you've ever wanted to make a difference in our community, meet great people, and help create events that bring thousands together, this is a wonderful organization to be part of. Consider reaching out and getting involved!

The tradition lives on! 🎶🌅

This year's Detroit Lakes Northwest Water Carnival Bash Night may have had a new home at Lakeside Tavern & Brewery with the absence of the Pavilion, but one thing didn't change—the incredible community spirit. As the music filled the air, pontoon boats gathered just offshore to enjoy the concert from the lake, carrying on a tradition that has become part of what makes Bash Night so special.

It was another picture-perfect Detroit Lakes evening, with a beautiful sunset, great music, and friends and families celebrating together. Traditions may evolve, but the memories they create continue to bring our community together.

Movie Night at Detroit Mountain was one for the memory books! 🎬⚾

Watching The Sandlot on the giant screen by Mobile Pro brought back so many memories of summers gone by—when the days seemed endless, pickup baseball games lasted until dark, and life was all about spending time with friends.

Even though the movie started early in the evening, the jumbo screen looked fantastic and the sound system made it feel like an outdoor theater. It was a beautiful night to gather with family, friends, and neighbors.

We truly live in a special community where evenings like this remind us to slow down, make memories, and appreciate the simple things in life.

Hundreds of people packed the Kent Freeman Hockey Arena for one of Detroit Lakes Northwest Water Carnival favorite traditions—Bingo Night! 🎉

Families, friends, and visitors filled the arena for an evening of laughter, excitement, and friendly competition, proving once again that some of the best summer memories are made with a bingo card in hand. From the youngest players to longtime Water Carnival fans, there was plenty of cheering, celebrating, and hoping to hear that winning number called.

⚽️ What a weekend for youth soccer in Detroit Lakes! ⚽️

More than 100 teams converged on the Detroit Lakes Rotary Soccer Fields on Friday and Saturday for the annual playoff championships during the Rotary Soccer Cup. Players, coaches, families, and fans filled the complex, creating an incredible atmosphere on one of the finest youth soccer facilities around.

With so many teams competing, games even expanded to the overflow field across Highway 34 on Garnet.

Here's a quick drone preview of all the action. I want to acknowledge every athlete who competed for their effort, and congratulations to the championship teams! Thank you to the Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary Club, volunteers, coaches, referees, and everyone who helped make this outstanding weekend possible.

The 4th of July holiday weekend may be over, but progress certainly isn't! 🚧

Work has resumed on West Lake Drive near the American Legion, and it's impressive to see the care that's being taken to keep beach access open while construction continues. Projects of this size always come with a few inconveniences, but the crews have done an outstanding job minimizing the impact so everyone can continue enjoying everything Detroit Lakes has to offer this summer.

Every day brings us one step closer to an even more beautiful waterfront. Thank you to everyone involved for the thoughtful planning and hard work!

What a beautiful summer evening for Trucks & Tunes in Detroit Lakes! 🎶

Last night's performance by The Cropdusters filled the City Park Bandshell with easy-listening, family-friendly bluegrass, Americana, and folk music. It was another wonderful night of neighbors, friends, great food, and live music in one of the best community gathering places around.

A big thank you to Project 412 & Historic Holmes Theatre for presenting this fantastic summer concert series and bringing live music to our community.
