One year ago yesterday, Natalie and Patrick gathered in Holland at Port 393, surrounded by the people who love them most, to celebrate the beginning of a beautiful new chapter together. Looking back on their wedding day now, it holds an even deeper reminder of what matters most.

Just days before their wedding, Patrick was involved in a car accident. Thankfully he was okay, and their celebration was still able to unfold as planned. But moments like that have a way of shifting perspective. They remind us how precious time really is. To slow down. To be intentional. To hold your people a little closer and celebrate not only the big milestones, but the small, ordinary moments too.

Watching these two step into marriage surrounded by so much love was something special, and a year later that feeling still remains. Happy first anniversary, Natalie and Patrick. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with joy, laughter, intentional moments, and a love that only grows deeper with every year. 🤍

One of my favorite things about photographing a wedding day is seeing how color can completely shape the feeling of a story. It’s so much more than choosing pretty details. Color creates atmosphere, sets the scene, and adds emotion in ways you may not even realize in the moment. It becomes part of how your day feels and, years later, part of what brings you back to those memories.

The morning of William and Karishma’s wedding felt wrapped in soft romance. Shades of pink, peach, burgundy, and mauve filled the space while their florals brought in beautiful texture and movement with soft greenery woven throughout. Every detail felt thoughtful and layered, creating a warmth that you could feel the second you walked into the room.

As I photographed their morning, it reminded me that intentional color does so much more than add beauty to images. It helps tell your story. It creates emotion, enhances the atmosphere, and gives your photos a feeling that allows you to relive not just how your day looked, but exactly how it felt. ✨

Motherhood looks different in every season, yet somehow it always carries the same kind of love.

It’s a mother helping her daughter into her wedding dress while quietly holding back tears. A mother and son swaying together on the dance floor realizing how quickly time has passed. A grandmother woven into a wedding day through pearls delicately placed in a veil and bridal details. A memorial frame held close to honor a mother deeply missed. It’s the gentle way a mama-to-be holds the life she’s growing and the quiet pride in watching your child begin a new chapter.

This year, these moments feel even more emotional to me because I’m experiencing motherhood for the very first time myself. As a new mom, I understand in a deeper way now just how powerful a mother’s love truly is.

These are the moments I’m always drawn to on a wedding day. The tears, the hugs that linger a little longer, the love that fills every space even when someone is no longer physically there.

And today can hold many emotions at once. Joy, gratitude, longing, grief, and hope. So today is also for the women longing to become mothers, those carrying the ache of loss, the new moms finding their footing, and anyone navigating this day with a tender heart.

To every mother, grandmother, expecting mama, new mom, and those honoring someone they deeply miss… Happy Mother’s Day. Your love leaves a mark that lasts forever. 🤍

Julia and Garett’s wedding day at Paint Creek Country Club felt like the kind of spring day you don’t forget. It was colorful and full of life, but with that crisp chill in the air that had everyone holding a little closer. They stood out on the golf course, surrounded by the people who know them best, promising forever in a moment that felt both intimate and deeply meaningful.

I remember the way they looked at each other throughout the day. There was so much calm, so much certainty, like they both knew this was exactly where they were meant to be. Even with the cool breeze, there was a warmth to everything. The laughter, the emotion, the quiet in-between moments all felt so genuine and full of intention.
Now, a year later, their love is growing in the most beautiful way as they prepare to welcome their baby boy. It is such an emotional thing to witness, seeing a day that began with two people committing their lives to each other turn into the beginning of a family.

Julia and Garett, I am so grateful I got to be a small part of your story. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, and the sweetest, most meaningful moments as you step into this next chapter together. Happy Anniversary! 🤍

There’s something about black and white that strips everything back to what matters most, connection, movement, and feeling.

Wandering the halls of Art Institute of Chicago with N & A felt like stepping into a living gallery, surrounded by timeless art, sculptural details, and the quiet kind of beauty that lets a love story unfold so effortlessly. Every corner held a new moment, and every frame felt both intimate and enduring. These are the kinds of spaces and stories I’m drawn to, where art and emotion meet in a way that feels refined, intentional, and dramatic in the most simplistic of ways.

For couples planning beyond home, I offer a full destination experience for both engagements and weddings, from helping you choose a location that aligns with your vision, to thoughtful timeline guidance, travel coordination, and an elevated, seamless photography experience wherever your story takes you. Whether it’s a city like Chicago or somewhere across the world, I am ready and excited to witness your story unfold in a place that means the most to you 🤍

At The Colony Club, Julia and Kyle’s reception was the kind of space that instantly draws you in and invites you to stay a while.

What made it feel so elevated wasn’t just one standout element, but how everything worked together so seamlessly. The mix of tall and low florals created depth and movement across the room drawing your eyes up to the stunning architecture, candlelight added a soft, romantic glow, and the champagne bow details brought in a subtle sense of personality. Paired with clean ivory linens and thoughtfully designed menu cards, every layer felt intentional and refined without ever feeling overdone.

The way your details speak to each other and create a cohesive atmosphere your guests can feel the moment they walk in.

Julia and Kyle created a space that felt warm, polished, and completely their own and that kind of experience is something your guests carry with them long after the night ends 🤍

There are moments on a wedding day that feel bigger than everything else, and this was one of them. 🤍

Cailin chose to do her first look with her dad in her childhood home. The same place where so many of her memories began. When he turned and saw her, it hit all at once. The tears, the pause, the way he just stood there taking her in. Around the corner, her mom, future mother in-law, and bridesmaids watched quietly, all of them emotional, not wanting to interrupt something so meaningful.

And then, in such a simple, instinctive way, he glanced over at the coffee table and pointed to a photo of her as a little girl. You could see it all connect for him in that moment. Who she was, who she is, and everything in between. The pride on his face, the joy, the disbelief that today was her wedding day. It was all there.

Becoming a parent this year has deepened the way I see moments like this. You start to understand just how quickly time moves, how the little girl in that photograph and the woman standing in front of him can feel like they exist all at once. It’s a kind of love that deepens with every passing year.

Moments like these aren’t just part of a wedding day, they’re part of a lifetime with the people who have loved you through every version of yourself.

The world seems to hold its breath during those final moments of light in East Tawas. ✨

For Jodie and Alex, their intimate wedding wasn’t about the production, it was about the presence. There is an intentionality to smaller celebrations that I find so incredibly moving.

We slipped away just as the sun began to dip, finding that fleeting, gilded light that only golden hour provides. It’s more than just a “photo op”; it’s a necessary pause. In the midst of your wedding day, these fifteen minutes are often the only time you’ll truly be alone to soak in the fact that you are finally, officially, husband and wife.

The light at this hour is soft, forgiving, and inherently romantic, painting every look and every touch in a way that feels like a dream you never want to wake up from. 🤍
