While we were at Devils Tower, we saw lots of colorful ribbons and different items affixed to the surrounding trees. We learned that many of the local Native American tribes view the tower as a sacred site and regularly hold ceremonies and leave prayer offerings.

There are many stories about the tower, but the most common is about children being chased by a bear and the tower rising up to save them, and the bear leaving claw marks on its sides.

I love a good looking dandelion cloud, just as long as it’s not in my yard. 😅💛

This water might look refreshing, but it would not be a good idea to take a dip! The smaller hot springs in Yellowstone can be 200°F with some of the larger ones reaching temperatures over 459°F. Pretty to look at, but not to touch 🔥

The day we drove out to the Badlands the temperature was hovering around 100°F, which is not uncommon for this area. The Badlands are known for their extreme temperatures and quick shifts in weather. In the few hours we were there, it went from being bright and sunny, to us hearing rumbles of thunder in the distance followed by a thunderstorm just as we were leaving the park.
