April Amelia Photography Photographer. Creative director. Storyteller. Capturing timeless moments and beyond. Hello and welcome to our page! My name is April and I truly love what I do.

Photography is my calling, my profession, and the thing that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday. My approach to photography is to use my creativity to capture a photo the way it makes me feel. I strive for perfection, which is my weakness as a photographer, but my goal is to give each and every customer what they rightly deserve…..excellence!

Sometimes God speaks in grand ways, and sometimes He whispers through the beauty of His creation.

This week, I was blessed to witness something simple yet beautiful. A male and female cardinal together. Scientifically it’s perfectly normal this time of year. But symbolically, these beautiful birds have long represented love, devotion, faithfulness, and the reminder that we were never meant to journey through life alone.Cardinals are known for staying close to one another, sharing responsibilities, and returning season after season. In a world that often celebrates temporary things, they serve as a quiet reminder that loyalty, partnership, and nurturing still exist.Perhaps that’s why moments like these make us pause. Not because they are rare, but because they remind us to notice the beauty that surrounds us every day.

Sometimes the greatest messages aren’t spoken at all. They’re simply perched quietly, waiting for us to slow down long enough to see them. ❤️

We know that sometimes clients prefer not to tag or mention our name, and even if it's in the contract. Not every session you see online reflects every client we serve. One thing many people may not realize is that when photographers post their work, it isn’t always an indication that a gallery is complete.

Sometimes I can share five favorite images from a session and immediately receive messages asking, “Are my photos ready?”

But posting a few images and delivering an entire gallery are two very different things. You don’t know if that client purchased expedited editing. You don’t know if those images were selected specifically for social media. You don’t know if they were sneak peeks promised in advance. And you certainly don’t know what is happening behind the scenes.Marketing and client delivery are not the same.

As photographers, we share our work because it helps others discover us, connect with our style, and trust us with their memories. But while you may see a handful of photographs online, there are often dozens of hours spent culling, editing, color correcting, organizing galleries, answering emails, teaching, working other jobs, and serving multiple clients at once.I post because it’s part of growing my business.
I don’t post because your memories are less important.Trust the process. The same care I put into the images you see is the same care I put into the images you don’t.

Photography is more than pressing a button. It is preserving moments with intention, artistry, and attention to detail. Beautiful work takes time.

And I promise, your memories are worth the wait.

With gratitude,

April Amelia

Shaun, I want to thank you for allowing me to showcase your beautiful session. Not only have you trusted me with these memories, but seeing your family share the images as well has meant more than you know, and I am beyond grateful.

Not only did you take the time to visit my website and book with me, but throughout the entire process you were patient, kind, and trusting. That trust is something I never take for granted.

One of the greatest gifts you gave me was creative freedom.Creative freedom means allowing an artist to create without limitations. It means trusting the vision, embracing the light, the location, the movement, and all of the moments in between. It means giving space for genuine connection and allowing images to unfold naturally rather than forcing perfection.Because of that trust, we created something far greater than photographs. We created memories. We created artwork. We created images that tell the story of this season of your life.

Why is sharing your experience so important?

Because every time you and your family share these images, you’re doing more than posting photographs. You’re supporting a dream, helping a small business grow, and allowing others to see the beauty, love, and connection that deserve to be remembered.

As photographers, we spend countless hours behind the scenes preserving moments that can never be recreated. When clients trust us with complete creative freedom and then share those memories with others, it becomes one of the greatest compliments we can receive. If there is one thing I hope future clients understand, it’s this: you don’t have to know what to wear, where to go, or how to pose. You don’t need to have a vision already planned out. My job is to guide you, style you, direct you, and create something that reflects who you are.

Shaun, thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your trust. Thank you for allowing me to create freely and for allowing these memories to live beyond the gallery.

It truly means the world to me.

Today, my heart is overflowing with pride.

Please join me in congratulating my daughter, Madeeyah Myrick, on her acceptance into the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Behavioral Sciences Program.

As a parent, there are moments that remind you just how far someone has come. Watching Madeeyah continue her educational journey and pursue her goals with determination, resilience, and purpose is one of those moments.

Education is not always easy. It requires sacrifice, discipline, late nights, and an unwavering belief in yourself. Madeeyah has demonstrated all of those qualities, and today is a reflection of her hard work and commitment to her future.

I am incredibly proud of the woman you are becoming. Continue to walk boldly in your purpose, trust the process, and know that there is no limit to what you can achieve.

Congratulations, Madeeyah. This is only the beginning, and I cannot wait to see all the lives you will impact along the way.

With love and pride,
