Owen - Seniors 2027

I was thrlled to meet Own to shoot for his Senior Portraits.
I learned that I have photographed many relatives and friends of his. I always feel so honored to be trusted for this speical time in a Senior's life.

I also love when Seniors incorporate what they love to do in their portraits. Owen's guitar made quite a few shots and just added to making his portraits unique for him.

There are jobs, and then there are moments like this.

I got to photograph a family I've known since I was a little girl — scattered now across the world, but home together to celebrate Rashmi's 50th birthday.

Rashmi and I knew one another as young girls and seeing that she has built a life that spans the globe is amazing.
Her brother Ravi is an incredible film photographer (talk about pressure behind the lens!), and her mom Anju is a mosaic artist whose work stops me in my tracks every time.
And we cannot forget the quiet absence of the family's patriarch, Dr. Raj Jolly. (I swear I saw and heard his laugh in his precious ones).

Getting everyone in one place, at one time, doesn't happen often anymore.
Being trusted to capture it — to make something that lasts long after everyone scatters again — means more than I can really put into words.
This is why I do this work.
Old family friends calling to ask me to hold onto their memories for them?

That's everything.

Meet Will!!!

CHO, Bocce Ball Star and Challeneger Player!! :)

We started out at Will dad's office, where Will is the CHO (Chief Hospitality Officer) :)

Next, we brought in his guitars and leaned into his love for Morgan Wallen , celebrated the letter he earned in Bocce ball, and honored his commitment to Challenger baseball, a program he shows up for with his whole heart. We even set up at his favorite neighbor's house, in his favorite chair, because the small, familiar things are just as much a part of who Will is as anything else!

Will's dad happens to be my son Jonah's boss, and getting to watch Jonah and Will become special buds has been one so special.
And Will's parents - they are the kind of people who make the world better just by being in it.
Huge hugs Cuba family!

Shooting Kate's pictures reminded me all over again how grateful I am to live in this gorgeous area I call home.

Where else can you shoot at a foggy lake, 2000-year-old rocks, a sunflower field, and a field of sunny Queen Anne's lace — all within 10 minutes of home?

Kate, your beauty would shine anywhere, but I'm so thrilled you got to share it with me in the place I love. Can't wait to see all that you accomplish, sweet girl!

Lori was my first friend when my family moved to Troutville from Pittsburgh (and THAT is a great culture shock story!).
Not only did Lori and I find friendship, but our families did too. We spent holidays together and ordinary days together.

And to top off our friendship gift, our boys even became very close friends. That means so many of my precious life memories have Lori, Mike, and her family in them.

I love these people so much. To be behind the camera and capture all of she and Mike's joys made my heart burst.

Love you much, Dilullo and Fickes families (and Vanchure family, you get in there now too!).
I look forward to watching your love and family grow even more throughout the years.

I once read that a photograph is the pause button of life.
I've seen that play out so many times — camera in my hand, and a memory settling into my heart.
This session was exactly that.

My dear high school friend Eliza —
Over the years I've visited her and her family in Erie, both to capture photos and to visit.
Last week, Eliza and her daughter Kate drove in for Kate's senior photos.
My heart was so full of memories of our shoots and times together...
