Seren and her mom were having lots of fun at the pool yesterday. I had the chance to snap some photos of them. Here are a few of my favorites. She's as cute in the water as she is out of it!

I went to the PDK Good Neighbor airshow this afternoon. It has been a couple of years since I went to an airshow and tried to photograph prop planes in flight and was VERY rusty. I left a little early today since the backs of my legs were getting sunburned (left the lotion in the car by mistake). For those who didn't hear, there was a crash at the airshow late in the afternoon, just a few minutes after I left, I think. Unfortunately the pilot, Greg Connell, was killed.
Here are a few photos of his flight earlier in the afternoon. He put on quite a show and was a talented pilot. I want to extend my condolences to his family and share these in tribute to him.

Here are a few more cell phone pix from the S7. I installed and used Lightroom Mobile on these. Oh, and I found out it's the CAMERA and not the editing that chews up battery on the phone. I was playing for 15-20 mins taking pictures with the phone today, and battery used dropped almost 60% during that time. Later, after I charged it up again and went to edit photos in LR Mobile, use didn't drop more than 5-10% after about 20 mins editing. The one of Muffin was actually from yesterday.

I was doing some experimenting with my new cell phone and its camera and photo editing software tonight. Here's a shot of my Junior waiting for a goody. This was shot on my new Samsung Galaxy S7 and edited in Photoshop Express on the phone.

I will say that it worked pretty well, but it did a good job of draining the battery, too. I could feel the phone warming up and see the battery indicator drop. I think it dropped about 15% in 20 minutes or so. I'll pay closer attention next time to see if it's the camera or photo editing that was draining it more.

I was experimenting yesterday with an abstract image inspired by some of Julieanne Kost's work.This is part of a nandina bush in the back yard. I twisted the camera during the exposure to create the blur on the first image and just moved it sideways on the second. Thoughts?

Playing around a little more with Topaz Impression tonight. I took a recent photo of Muffin that I liked and use the Pencil sketch filter in Topaz. I like this result. :-) I also put in the original photo for comparison.

Experimenting with a tilt-shift lens and my trusty 24-105.
