Welcome back to adult roller derby, where the athletes are tough and the pain doesn't matter. Last weekend, the Lansing Roller Derby took on the Ann Arbor Roller Derby. If last weekend's bouts taught me anything, it's that a rowdy cheer crew means you're in for some hard hitting action on the track. 💪😵‍💫🤕😄

LRD vs. LRD?!
This June the LRD took on...the LRD? That's right!! The Roller Derby hosted two bouts vs. Louisville Roller Derby, and hot damn were the bouts great to watch! Thank you so much LRD (the Lansing one) for hosting, and LRD (Louisville 😜) for making the trek up here and making for some great, competitive bouts!

The Lantern Festival at the John Ball Zoo did not disappoint!! Check it out before it's too late!! Goes 'till June 16th, and tickets sell out fast during the week (did the research for you! 😉😄) They really go all out, and it's honestly a wonder how they even set some of them up! 🤯🤩

Bout #2 (2024) for the Lansing Junior Roller Derby officially in the books...and here's the photos to prove it! The Lansing Roller Derby veterans are working hard to mentor this group and teach them everything they know about derby. I'd say the results are evident, as the juniors appear to be a force to be reckoned with!

This last weekend, we saw bouts from both the junior roller derby and the adult LRD teams, and they didn't disappoint!

But did they wear purple and green?
You mean their best colors?! Yep!!!

Did everyone have a great time?
Oh yeah! Derby, Dancing, + Half-time shenanigans!

Am I excited for the next bout day? 100%!! I learned some new camera tricks that are sure to get some great photos, thanks in part to Garrin Ball Photography.

Always a learning experience, and always a good time. That's the LRD way!
