Boese Galleries My art is rooted in curiosity about the spaces we inhabit—both wild and constructed, communal and solitary.

awn to subjects of resilience and presence: the determined stride of a grizzly, the bold stance of an activist, the fleeting perfection of a flower in bloom. Each is an invitation to pause and consider the stories embedded in environments—how a landscape shapes us, how a community finds its voice, how a single moment can anchor memory and meaning. I blend photojournalistic observation with expressive interpretation, to capture not just what I see, but what I feel: the tension between wildness and civilization, the hope that animates collective action, the quiet dignity of everyday life. Whether through photography or painting, our goals as artists in our diverse galleries is to create art that sparks conversation, reflection, and a renewed sense of connection to the world. Every piece we share carries a belief that art can both document and transform, offering new ways to see and care for the places and people that shape our lives. See the Change You Want to Be

Welcome to a gathering of artists who create with purpose — who see, feel, and reflect the world as it shifts beneath our feet. We stand for what is vanishing: wildness, wonder, democracy, glaciers, bees, and the quiet dignity of all living things. Our work honors the pulses of life — from the raw edges of nature to the rhythm of communities finding their voice.

Here's "Birches by Pond," an original 8x15 by Janet Dyer. I host Janet and two other artists on our site alongside my own work.

This one opens up a field of green where birches lean toward a pale ribbon of water. Lime and emerald meet a band of sky-blue, with small warm accents that give the scene a fresh, lively feel—perfect above a mantel or in an entryway.

Janet Dyer's Trees in Autumn takes us down a sunlit country lane under a clear cobalt sky. We follow a road that angles toward a bright horizon, past tall trees and a distant treeline of burnt orange, saffron, and russet, as if the season turned the color dial up a notch.

I like how the light keeps shapes simple and gives the scene a fresh, open feeling.

A boy fishes for silvers at Eklutna Tail Race, sleeves rolled and hat brim low, standing in blue-green water.

Clouds reflect on the water and narrow ripples fan out from his boots. Reeds and his bright bobber near the shore make the waiting feel possible. That patient, attentive moment unfolds again each time it comes up.

I shot several in this Eklutna series, but this is my favorite.

Late-winter light slips between evergreens in Janet Dyer's "A Path Through Snow."

We host this 12 by 12 original on the site alongside work by three other artists. Cool blues meet patches of ochre and a bright chartreuse that draw the eye, while birch trunks and clustered foliage give the scene its shape.

Where would you hang it—living room, hallway, or that sunny corner you pass every morning?
