I could not believe my luck when I realized that I'd be able to get this shot of an Amish buggy cruising by a cyclist while photographing Ride Across Wisconsin last year. I squealed! I was equally excited to pull the Wisconsin Bike Fed 2026 Ride Guide out of my mailbox and see my buggy achievement on the front cover. Bikes + buggies!

I spent Saturday in my preferred zone: chasing 1000 bikes around the Chippewa Valley with a camera and a drone. Congrats on an excellent event. If people are still perma-smiling after 100 miles (or 180!) you’re doing something right.

I shot this year! The vibes are always 10/10 at this event, which I attribute to the pie waiting for you at the end and a glorious lack of mosquitos. You can race this one (some pros do!) or just spend a chill day cruising gravel in the northwoods. Work + bikes, the best.
