Hard truth. I watched a video the other day where a guy was talking about a woman who died in his office and how she left all this time on the books. Made me think about a couple things: 1. tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. 2. you are JUST a number at work and easily replaced. 3. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” (FB)

Day 3 of new designs.

I routinely push myself past my limits.

I'm comfortable being uncomfortable.

I find myself in (good) pain during lots of my training, in fact I look forward to it. It lets me know I'm alive.

It reminds me that when you want something bad enough there really isn't much to stand in your way of it.

When I'm training and the pain of the workout or run kicks in, there's really only one option - to embrace it. To welcome it with open arms and to let it drive you. Use that pain as your motivator to keep going. To keep pushing. To go harder.

So when I sat back and thought about training and the pain that is almost always associated with it, I started really thinking about how I embrace it. I asked myself, 'when you feel the pain kick in, how do you find the motivation to keep going and not just say forget it?'

Then it dawned on me. I associate the pain with pleasure. I don't look at it as something uncomfortable or something negative, I find the pleasure in it. I let that little inner voice tell my body to shut the f**k up and keep going.

So with that, the idea for the next design came to life.

Find Pleasure In The Pain.

New day, new design.

What's up everyone?!?

So it's a new day, and what better time to talk about the next design in our lineup of 5.

Both my Nana and Grandpop on my Mom's side were in the Navy. They were both deployed and served during WWII. Their want and desire to fight for and defend the freedoms of the people was something that I never forgot though all the years. Though both are gone, their memory and their service never fades.

In thinking about them and trying to tie together their being in the Navy with what I do and the training that is involved both personally and in a work aspect, I wanted to incorporate something I felt stood for strength. Stability. Security.

It didn't take much time to decide that was an anchor. A symbol that ties all three of those elements together. One image that would illuminate the idea that was brewing in my head.

Then came the idea of what to say with it. Immediately, without hesitation, Holdfast came to mind. The idea of bearing down and fighting through the storm. To back that up, Kicking Ass. A pretty self-explanatory term. Whatever it takes, GET IT DONE.

The idea was born. The image came right to mind. I knew what I wanted and made it happen.

The next design in our line: Holdfast. Kick Ass.
