What started out as a dark and dreary afternoon, turned into the perfect beach session! When I got to the parking lot, it was raining and to be honest with you, I didn’t think we were gonna be able to shoot at all. But they wanted to go ahead and take pics despite the wet weather, and as we were shooting under the pier (trying to keep dry) the rain stopped and the clouds gave us the most beautiful lighting. It was like a natural light box, and all of the wind subsided so that we could finish what we started. The kids had a blast and the whole family really got into taking pictures together. I got so many pictures, I wish I could post them all! But I’m just so thankful that we were able to get through this shoot, because it would’ve been a lot to reschedule. They even gave me a 5-star review! 🙌🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙌🏻

Another happy family! These past 2 months have been so crazy busy, my schedule has been BURSTING at the seams! Haven’t had a moment to post to social media, but I’m gonna try to be better at that. Well it finally happened! Two nights ago I had a family photo shoot scheduled early because the weather wasn’t looking good around sunset. After that shoot, AS I WAS DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT, a mother stopped me to ask if I was a photographer. I told her “yes I am” and she asked me if I could take her family pictures. Well of course I said yes, and asked her when she wanted to do them. To that she answered “right now!” I was stunned because nobody has ever asked me that before, and when I said “sure! what’s going on?” she responded by telling me that her photographer canceled on them at the last minute, and they were all dressed and ready to go and needed their pictures done ASAP. I guess I was just in the right place at the right time, and I’m so happy I was! These kiddos were so fun, and now I hope I can watch them grow year after year when they come to visit, because I have a lifelong client from this mishap.

Another walkout wedding for me in the books! These weddings are so simple and so beautiful. They are some of my favorites out here on the coast. We literally walk out on any beach, pick a spot that we want to stand, and hold our ceremony however we like. The simplicity of this is something in itself, because the skies the limit and there are really no restrictions as long as you’re not setting anything up. This is what it looks like if you elope, or want to come down and have a very simple ceremony on the Alabama coast. Found my muse! These days shooting at the Pier is becoming more frequent for me and I’M LOVING IT!!! There is so much variety there, and I’m discovering new angles every time I visit. It’s always fun shooting at the Gulf State Park Pier because it gives interesting angles and depth to my photos. There are so many backgrounds to choose from including beside the pier, under the pier, on top of the pier, and opposite the pier with the dunes in the background. Side note: if you want to go up into the pier there is an admission fee. I believe it’s $3 per person, but check before you go for the exact price. (We didn’t go onto the pier in this shoot)
