Flash Flood Emergency here in Kountze, Texas. Last night I was here as a still feisty Edouard downed trees all over the area with winds over 60mph. Now hour upon hour of heavy rain has led to a serious situation. This area was in moderate drought before this!

Tropical Storm Edouard continues to impact the Louisiana and Texas coast well inland from landfall. Strong winds have brought down power lines and trees, with multiple homes in Nederland, TX damaged by falling trees as gusts approached hurricane force.

Tonight’s episode of In The Eye Of The Storm on Discovery Channel is from last years Enderlin day and so you may see me on there. Earlier before Enderlin, I was in the formation stages of the Spiritwood tornado. I had the drone up and soon started getting the I need to get of here immediately feels as vortices were dancing around me so had to leave the poor drone. It went for a ride. I recovered it later and watched the Spiritwood tornado rope out just to my north. I then had another tornado cross just in front of me near Valley City and soon after ended up staying with a lady for a while trying to help her corral her animals after the tornado devastated her farm (As soon as I got home I bought several ropes, leashes and lassos to have in my truck so if ever come across something like that again). Enderlin was hit while I was there and after the derecho passed I headed down there. I got a little video that night but it wasn’t until the next day that got a good look at the damage. I soon discovered the unbelievable scene of the train tossed well out into a field. Some of my videos from that day were used in helping upgrade to the EF5 rating months later.

Crazy flash flood this morning in Kerrville. This time the flood came from the opposite direction as the Guadalupe River… the flood was from all side creek and streams that flow into the Guadalupe. I’m sure many people were surprised to see water rushing around them in places that probably no one has ever seen water rushing. YouTube video will be out shortly and will be linked in comments.
