Every piece of art carries a little history. Sometimes it comes from traditional folk patterns, heritage symbols or western roots, and sometimes it comes from my summer-long quest to befriend a crow that started hanging around the yard. I started calling him Kevin and leaving peanuts out for him, but Kevin wasn’t having it. He didn’t need any new friends, especially the human kind who was already housing birds, squirrels, possums, chickens, skunks and armadillos in her yard. Maybe it was just too crowded.
Long story short, Kevin flew the coop, and I was left with half a bag of shelled peanuts. So even though this piece will have a fall background, it is my tribute to the crow who wouldn’t stay. I think I’m going to call it Kevin. 🤣🤣
