Here are the rest of the 8-dog teams on the outbound leg of the WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race. My apologies to Jennifer Freking (Bib No.4) ... I had some focus issues when you went by. I made up for it on the inbound leg (which will be coming later).

Note that I posted these in order but Facebook often seems to like to shuffle them 😞

Bib No. 2, TJ Squires and her team were the first out of the chute for the WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race this morning (Feb 22, 2026).

More photos coming but I have nearly a thousand images to go through. I'll start working on the rest tomorrow. Sitting in a snowbank most of the day can sure wear a person out!

Time for my page to go to the dogs once again. The WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race 2026 is upon us. Today, we had the meet & greet -- always a fun event -- and the musher's dinner. Tomorrow, the race itself! Conditions will be near perfect for everyone! Good luck to all the teams.. Enjoy!

Every year, the 1st full week of February, Ely holds their Winter Festival. The center piece of the festival is a Snow Sculpture event held on the 1st weekend. Every year since I've been here, we've had a huge warmup during that week so the sculptures haven't lasted very long. This year was no different in that regard. I did, however, manage to get over to the park on Feb 11, just as the warmup was ramping up. Beautiful clear skies that day so I waited until later in the day to avoid contrast issues. I also decided to use my wide angle lens (10mm) which made for some interesting effects. Hope you enjoy!
