The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Southern Illinois
Southwest Indiana
Western Kentucky
Southeast Missouri

* Effective this Friday night from 640 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Multiple clusters of storms are expected to spread
eastward across the watch area with the potential for occasional
wind damage (60-70 mph gusts) and isolated large hail (near 1 inch
diameter) into early tonight.

The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southern Washington County in south central Illinois... Randolph County in southwestern Illinois...

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 637 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from near Coulterville to near Evansville, or along a line from near Sparta to 6 miles northeast of Ste. Genevieve, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Preston, Evansville, Sparta, Tilden, Walsh, Eden, Coulterville, Roots, Blair, Ellis Grove, New Palestine, Steeleville, Percy, Bremen, Welge, Chester, Shiloh Hill and Rockwood.

This includes the following State Parks... Piney Creek Ravine State Natural Area, Randolph County State Recreation Area, World Shooting and Recreational Complex and Turkey Bluffs State Fish and Wildlife Area.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.

* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 1220 PM
until 700 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms will track eastward across the
watch area through the afternoon, posing a risk of locally damaging
wind gusts.
