Do you remember where you were on that day?

September 11, 2001.

I had just graduated high school and was working at State Farm Insurance. I remember being glued to the television and computer for the rest of the day after the first attack at 8:46 AM, watching in complete disbelief as something unfolded that none of us could fully comprehend.

Twenty-five years later, I can still remember that feeling.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost. We remember the families whose lives changed forever. We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary people who ran toward danger when every instinct would have told them to run away.

Resharing these images today feels especially meaningful. They were taken during a senior session, but they represent something so much bigger — a calling to serve, protect, and show up for others.

For those of us who remember September 11th, may we never forget what that day felt like. May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who gave everything, and the way our country came together in the days that followed.

And may we continue to honor the men and women who choose a life of service today. 🇺🇸

25 years later, we remember.

I am so excited and incredibly grateful to learn that Brandi Wimer Photography has been nominated for Best Photographer, along with some other incredible talented photographers! Whoever nominated BWP, thank youuu from the bottom of my heart.

When I think about what this business has become over the years, the photographs are only a small part of the story.

It's the families who have come back year after year. The babies I photographed who are somehow now standing in front of my camera as seniors. The couples who trusted me with their wedding day and later brought their growing families back to me. The athletes, milestones, births, celebrations, and everyday moments I've been lucky enough to document along the way.

Nearly 20 years behind the camera have given me a front-row seat to so many chapters of your lives, and that is something I will never take for granted.
