For Julie’s Graduation session I was so happy with her location choice. I am so excited for her next chapter and that we documented this session at the college she will be attending.
The cap covering half her face wasn’t about hiding, it was about transition. The space between who she has been and who she’s becoming.
Her eyes are the only thing fully revealed because that’s where the story lives: strength, uncertainty, pride, pressure, hope. Graduation portraits are usually made to celebrate the ending, but I wanted this one to sit in the quiet tension of becoming. This is a big step forward, but she is ready.
The symmetry, the black and white tones, the stillness — all of it was meant to feel almost cinematic. like a visual pause before the next chapter begins. 🖤
