My opinion? There’s not much to be proud of in this country at the moment in terms of government and people. But I’ll always be thankful to live in a place with such diverse and vast landscapes. Let’s do our best to fight for our country’s future, eh?

One of my favorite things to do is gaze at the stars in the middle of the night. There’s so much in my life that stresses me out, and when I gaze up and see how wide the universe really is, it makes me realize that an upcoming bill or deadline at work is nothing in the grad scheme. All of these anxieties we have are but a breath in the life of the universe. There’s so much more out there and we’re only a tiny insignificant part of it. So remember, don’t stress, don’t worry if you’re a little late on this or that, or if your funds are running low. Things will work out, life goes on, and all that really matters is finding joy in whatever you can.

An old photo that shows the early morning beauty of one of Missouri’s clearest and most beautiful spring festivals rivers - the Current. I will be floating this river for the first time ever today and am ecstatic. I’m often surprised when people from out of state ask me “What’s a river float?” Because it’s so common here that I forget it’s almost a part of Missourian culture. I’m thankful to have grown up in a place where this simple pastime of floating slowly on a river is so important. There’s nothing like a wake summer morning on a tube or kayak, drink in hand, floating on a calm current as you hang your foot in the water.

Always in awe of where I find myself, whether it’s close or far. ❤️

The beauty of Maramec Spring!

Maramec Spring is the 5th largest spring in Missouri and has a flow of 100 million gallons of water per day! The park is not owned by the state, but by a private foundation. It offers all sorts of activities for the solo adventurer or family, including hiking, picnics, historical exhibits, and trout fishing/feeding. You can even take a drive around the park and see old cabin foundations, an old iron mine, and the remains of a smelter. This is one of my favorite places to go and just enjoy the calm beauty of one of Missouri’s most amazing natural wonders.

Sharing a set of photos from my trip to Castor River Shut-ins yesterday. If you saw my stories, you’ve seen how trashed this place can get when people frequent it in warm weather. I’ve never seen the amount of trash there that I did yesterday. I just don’t understand how some humans can leave their s**t sitting out in the open, for everyone to see, and have no issue with it. The best of the best here in southern MO. Despite not wanting these people to get away with their bad habits, I’ll continue to pick up the trash for the sake of the waterways.
