The moon was setting as I pulled up to the Saddle, the buffalo hiding in the fog. I had only enough time to set up my tripod and get a couple shots before the moon set.

The sun was in a similar mood and only peaked out for a couple of seconds.

Tomorrow night & into Friday "could" be a spectacular show. We of course may be too far south but there is the potential...

Tomorrow night & into Friday "could" be a spectacular show. We of course may be too far south but there is the potential for the aurora to dance across the sky. Normally the full moon would wash out the chances, however, not long after dark a 96.2 % Lunar eclipse in Pisces will begin. Peaking just after midnight, the darkened sky could up the chances for the aurora to be captured on camera. Many factors will need to fall into place for the magic to happen, but I'm always hopeful.

These photos are from a previous lunar eclipse and the October 10th, 2024 solar storm.
