Creatively Curious Photography

Creatively Curious Photography I love to capture joy, love, and candid, natural light. South Denver from Northern Colorado As long as I can remember I've always loved taking pictures.

I asked for my first digital camera when I was 10. Over the years I've taken many pictures - and quite a few have turned out very good. Being an adult and having a nice camera has allowed me to take this side passion and turn it into something everyone can enjoy. I am lucky to live in such a beautiful state and have such a beautiful son - it makes my 'job' a lot easier, but none the less - I see the world for it's natural beauty. And I see the wonder in children's eyes.

Denver fall family photography is booking now, and your session starts with what matters to you.

Prime weekend spots book fastest. I am offering a few weeknights, so save this and book today to secure your Peak 3 session.

Save this so you can come back to the portfolio, testimonials, services, pricing and fall availability when you’re ready to plan photos around your people, story and season.

I offer over 28 professional services, but where Creatively Curious comes from is knowing people, honoring what they need, and creating unique packages when your idea falls between existing services or needs a custom photography package.

This is why I love the testimonials; they are paired with photos from the real clients who wrote them, so you can read about their client experience while looking at the family, milestone, portrait, branding or event photographs we created together.

If you dream your biggest photography dreams, what does that look like? I’ll capture the little moments in between.

Many clients have trusted me for years and invited me back as their families, businesses and stories grew. When I moved to Denver, I dedicated 2 weekends to the Fort Collins area for the families that hold my business together.

Twelve years of photography experience and long-term client relationships come back to knowing who your people are, and seeing the little things other photographers miss.

I’m bringing small-town customer service to the big city: learning who you are, caring about the details, answering your questions and making sure you understand what you’re booking.

Creatively Curious Photography is built around people worth seeing, moments worth remembering and photographs that feel radiant, real and entirely you.

Explore the website, read the testimonials, look through the portfolio, and because is amazing, click all the buttons that finally work.

Then tell me what you want to create in your chapter of life so I can document it for you.

What makes you write a great testimonial for a photographer or artist? What matters to you?

You are officially on my cutest-baby jury: eight ridiculously cute photos, three contest entries, and I genuinely need help choosing.

Save this for newborn, baby milestone and first-birthday photo inspiration, then swipe through and choose your top THREE.
Names are below in order 🫶 TYSM for your help!

The Photograp[her] Magazine] Magazine is running a Cutest Baby contest, and apparently the hardest part of photographing adorable babies is deciding which adorable baby photos deserve the three entry slots.

These photographs move through the first year: sleepy newborns photographed with my mobile studio, newborn lifestyle moments with professional lighting, bundled six-month outdoor sessions, wonder in nature and the frosting-covered magic of a first-birthday cake smash.

You’ll also see two brothers photographed across multiple milestone sessions. Watching personalities emerge and families grow is one of my favorite parts of this work.

Each session adds another page to the family album: the tiny newborn details, the curiosity that arrives a few months later and the wonderfully messy joy of turning one.

In order so you can comment Below

1. Santa Baby — NB
2. The Biggest Yawn — EA
3. Rainbow Nose Kisses — MP
4. Bundled in Winter — NP
5. Wonder in Nature — MP
6. Blue-Frosting Smile — NP
7. Big Boy Smile — MP
8. Frosting-Faced Joy — MP
9. I need to book a session because MY baby is the cutest.

Now I need your help.

Comment the THREE photo numbers I should submit.

And if your real vote is 9, I fully support that plan.

Visit my website to explore Denver newborn photography, baby milestone sessions and first-birthday cake smash photography.

Which three win? 💬 below on which ones I submit!

The labor looks different this year - in an amazing way because small businesses are built with community backing.

Save this as a marker of how much your own work can change in one year and you want those brand photos to see your growth as part of your business story.

For the last two Labor Days, I was delivering Amazon packages. Today, I’m creating content and building two businesses I chose to bet on, and when I do a branding session- I'm betting on your small business too, I'm your hype girl cos Colorado Small Business Strong!

Labor Day grew from workers organizing to recognize the social and economic contributions of American labor. Colorado was one of the first states to officially recognize the holiday in 1887.

Today, I’m thinking about the work we see and the countless hours supporting everything a small business creates.

At Creatively Curious Photography, every session is supported by consultations, planning, location scouting, equipment preparation, emails, editing, gallery delivery, bookkeeping, website maintenance, content creation and twelve years of continuing to grow and ensure my business is able to hold your business.

That labor allows me to preserve the people, businesses and moments worth seeing.

It is also pretty wild that I now get to direct that labor toward something I built from curiosity, experience and one enormous bet on myself, and ironically I WISH i had the glow up content for my business right now!

So yes, this is your less than subtle to book me. I would like this risk to work out, and photography is significantly cooler than delivering Amazon packages.

To every small-business owner working today: I see you, I'm with you. And let's make sure we can show that harvest next fall .

If content is part of your workload, a branding session can give you a polished gallery that keeps working across your website, social media and marketing.

What are you building today?

Just making sure you know extended family sessions are made for this: multiple generations in one gallery. 📸

Save this for the family group chat when everyone starts planning fall family photos.

If you have a lot of siblings with kids we can easily coordinate a multi family package deal to make sure you get grandma and grandpa (and if you can great grandparents!) In the group photo.

I know this family well and I know how much these photos mean to them as much as the ones we got with my grandparents did.

Four generations in one family photography session and I love getting to be the one to document it - because I know the value of a moment before it's a memory.

With extended family photography, I’m getting the full family portrait AND watching what happens around it: grandparents with grandkids, adult siblings together, Mom with her baby, each generation on its own, and all the little interactions nobody could plan if we tried.

Like Mom kissing her baby almost exactly the way her mom does (I'm not crying your crying).

Some of the not seen photos of this album include little sis eye roll I can attest she had mastered as a small child. And I love everybody trying to hold it together for the family portrait and then immediately being themselves again.

That’s what I’m looking for.

The big photo matters. So do all the smaller relationships inside it.

If your fall family photos include grandparents, great-grandparents, siblings, cousins, or more than one household, an extended or multi-family session gives us room to photograph the whole group AND the combinations that make your family yours.

I photograph extended and multigenerational families throughout Denver and the Denver metro area, and fall dates are already moving.

Comment “FAMILY” if this is the year you’re getting everyone together. ✨

And tell me: how many generations could you get into one photo right now?

Did you know I offer engagement photos as part of your wedding package?

Fall is a great time for engagement photos for you 2027 brides and grooms to be! (And if you haven't asked, now is the time!)

Save this, especially on your future spouse page if you want to drop a hint, so we can set up a consultation!

I offer several wedding packages, but my favorite place to start is with BOTH your engagement photos and your wedding.

We get to work together before one of the biggest days of your life. You figure out what feels natural in front of my camera, I learn how you interact, and when your wedding day gets here we already have a rhythm.

Throwback to the time I literally helped a bride curl her hair because the venue was running an hour behind on breakfast. True story!

Using the same engagement and wedding photographer creates continuity in your love story, gallery, coffee table books, and process.

The first wedding I photographed was my photography mentor’s. She picked two mentees to photograph it, the closest she could get to photographing her own wedding. 😂 One of the highest compliments I could receive as a photographer.

I also have second-shooter coverage when your wedding needs another photographer.

Already have engagement photos? I gotchyu. Wedding-only packages exist.

Eloping? I gotchyu.

I photograph Denver weddings, Colorado mountain weddings (cos hello duh), elopements, engagements, and I travel for destination weddings too. ✈️

Every wedding starts with a complimentary consultation, plus check-ins before the day, so I know what YOU care about: timeline, getting ready, first look, ceremony, family, wedding party, reception, golden hour, and the weird little moments you need photographed. No surprise price tag, cos I’m very sure how long it will take.

Your wedding photography should feel like your day, not somebody else’s Pinterest board. My goal is for your wedding photos to land on someone else’s Pinterest board.

Save this for wedding planning and tell me: where are you getting married? 💍✨

The 'you have to message me to book' era is OVER. Let me show you how the new website works and the magic of collaborations. 📸✨

Save this for the next time you’re ready to book your photography session through the website (mobile version).

This is the first in a little website tutorial series because after YEARS of every booking step going through me, you can now browse services, see pricing, check availability, pay your deposit, and book directly online.

Family portraits, senior portraits, branding photography, milestone sessions, most of everything is all there! Things like events, engagements, and weddings and specialty sessions require consultations and you can book THAT too, and consultations are always free so we can make sure you’re getting what you expect.

And yes, the photos on the website are intentionally high quality because…hello. That is literally the point of booking a photographer that specializes in canvases and large prints for wall art or billboards for small businesses - why we upgraded and are rocking a full frame finally.

A huge thank you to Justine Q ✦ Witchy Brand Designer for making this functional version possible. We’re still building and refining because I have more ideas, but I wanted booking to be EASY before fall peak season hit. 🙏❤️✨️

And shoutout to 𝚂𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙿𝚑𝚘𝚝𝚘𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚙𝚑𝚢 for the branding photos you see throughout the site. We swapped sessions, she made me fall in love with branding photography from the other side of the camera, and there may be a little collaboration Easter egg in our future. ✨

This is what working smarter, not harder, looks like at Creatively Curious Photography - a streamlined booking system so it's efficient for clients and I get to spend more time doing the part I love: creating photographs with people throughout the Denver metro area.

What if talent is something you build, not something you find?

You may find someone who has a naturally good eye, but there is something magical about watching that instinct turn into practice and growth.

Save this for the next time you need a reminder that the things we keep practicing become part of who we are.

My first-ever photography session was maternity.

Twelve years later, I can literally watch my growth as a photographer through the families who kept inviting me back and allowed me to grow with their families.

Some of these women came back for a second maternity session. And a third. So while you’re watching my photography evolve, you’re also watching families grow.

Over twelve years, some clients have become family. I have become “Auntie Sami,” the photographer who knows their kids, knows how their family moves together, and still makes space for the cool pictures — and sometimes a turn behind the camera too.

Whether you are starting your family, growing it, or making the most of every milestone with your last baby, maternity photography becomes part of a living album of moments you only get once.

I’ve experienced pregnancy too, so I understand that movement, comfort and posing can feel different in this season.

I understand composition, connection, body language, location and timing in ways that only come from years of paying attention.

And I’m still learning every single time I pick up my camera.

Growth never really ends. Curiosity paired with practice always gives you somewhere new to go.

That experience is part of what my clients are hiring: twelve years of practice and mastery, a trained eye, and the ability to recognize the moments worth keeping while they are happening — from maternity and milestone photography to family photography as your story keeps growing.

If you’re looking for a Denver maternity photographer, I would love to document this season of your family.

DM me to start planning your session.

What’s something you’ve gotten better at simply because you kept showing up for it?

Small Business Saturday: Featuring Powderhorn Cabins ✨

Save this for the next time you need a mountain getaway, and book BEFORE holidays and weekends fill up FAST. TBH, take me back. 📸✨

These photos are from last summer when I stayed in Gould. Just up Highway 14 past the Mish and outside Walden, Colorado, Powderhorn is about halfway between Fort Collins and Steamboat Springs.

This is one of my favorite places in Colorado. Hallie, Luke, and the Powderhorn staff are such gracious hosts, the rates are super reasonable, and the whole property has this raw Colorado mountain beauty that makes me want to pull my camera out every five minutes.

I was there as a guest, not photographing a client or creating branding content. I got to just PLAY with my camera. I found so much joy in nature and landscape photography. Between the rustic cabins, the absolutely gorgeous mountain light, little details that caught my eye (like the wildflowers), and whatever made me stop and think, I need a picture of that.

I can look at these images now and still have that little moment of, WHOA. I took that photo AND I got to be there. And somehow the photos still don’t do Powderhorn justice.

Hallie is Colorado born and raised like me, IYKYK. If you want that authentic Colorado feel and don’t understand the hubbub, go book. You’ll see.

I also love the work they’ve done to stay open year-round, and the original restored wood burning stoves are absolute magic. ✨
There’s wildlife everywhere too, including the moose North Park is famous for.

If you want a little magic in your life, this is it. They host events too, and hello Colorado brides, because if I ever get married, this is where I’ll be.

Small businesses supporting small businesses matters to me because Colorado is full of people, places, and stories worth celebrating.

And even as a Denver photographer, sometimes the best reminder of why I love photography is getting to wander somewhere beautiful with no assignment and simply notice.

What Colorado place makes you immediately reach for your camera?

Nobody tells you this part of trying something new: you have to be bad at it first.

Save this for September 1 because the Creatively Curious Photography website is launching. 📸✨ (the functional version)

I have tried to make this website work for YEARS. Different booking methods, random spreadsheets and notes. Pricing living in my brain. Not really running a business.
But- Try. Fail. Rebuild. Repeat.

So this year I finally did what I should’ve done years ago: I asked for help. (Thank you Justine Q ✦ Witchy Brand Designer )

This season has been two months in my office catching up on bookkeeping, organizing 12½ years of work, going through almost 40,000 photographs, rebuilding service pages, breaking buttons (again thank you Justine for fixing them), finding workarounds and crying over Wix more than once.

I've wanted to quit, a lot but then I see the magic in the photos.

Because Photography is the part that makes sense to my brain. Give me golden hour, a family being themselves, a senior who needs help feeling comfortable, a business owner who needs branding photos, or an event full of candid moments and I know what to do.

Making the booking button work? Humbling.

But today, for the first time, I looked at the website and thought: OH. We're getting somewhere.

Soon you’ll be able to browse family, senior, branding, event and specialty photography sessions throughout Denver and the Denver metro area, see pricing, check availability, book your session AND pay online without waiting for me to manually walk you through every step.

Payment plans aren’t disappearing either. I’m building MORE options because accessibility is key.

Everyone sees the finished photographs.

This is the part you usually don’t see.

The mistakes. The rebuilding. The asking for help. The boring work behind making a creative small business function.

September 1, you finally get to see what all of this has been for.

Save this so you remember to come back for launch day. ✨

And tell me in the comments: what part of YOUR job would surprise people the most?
