HAPPY SATURDAY!! Let’s talk about a word I see often when clients are looking for a photographer, or service provider in general.. AFFORDABLE.
When someone asks for an “AFFORDABLE” service provider, it can stop us in our tracks for a second. Like… wait. Am I affordable or nah? 😅 We’ve all had that thought, time and time again. And I know for me, pricing can be SO hard at times.
But here’s the thing, boo. Pricing isn’t just a number we throw out there, at least I don't throw out there.
C O D B.. WHAT IS THAT?! It's the Cost of Doing Business.
And no, that’s not some vague business buzzword. It’s real money, every single month. For me, that looks like business insurance, editing software, gallery platforms, website fees, travel, gear, memory cards… and that’s just scratching the surface for monthly expenses. That doesn't touch yearly expenses, like business license renewal. Then we have to calculate the hours spent. Booking, communicating, traveling to and from the session, uploading, editing, exporting, etc!
Then comes experience.
Not just the number of years I’ve been doing this, but the entire experience I provide. Helping you choose locations. Sending wardrobe guidance and links.
And then there’s the session itself, right?
No two photographers run sessions the same. I’ve seen it firsthand. I love watching others work when I’m passing by or waiting on clients. Everyone brings something different to the table. And that's a great thing. But in the service industry, doing your due diligence is a MUST. Anyone can have pretty graphics, and top tier marketing, but does their portfolio reflect that? Do their clients return for more sessions?

My sessions are full of movement, connection, and endless fun. I'll toss out tons of prompts and games, that pull you out of your head and into the moment. I'm going to make sure you look and feel like you've done this 100 times. I'll make sure the posing makes you look incredible without feeling stiff or posed. Start to finish, I’ve got you, and your crew.
I don’t do surface-level small talk. It’s just not in me.
We’re yappin, relating, connecting. And I know having a camera pointed at you can feel awkward, but I promise, within three minutes, you’ll feel at ease!
Also… I come prepared, babyyyy!
Bug spray? Got it.
Hair clip? Take mine.
Candy for your toddler? On it.
Fashion tape? Baby wipes?
Need my Crocs for that mud? SAY LESS.
WHAT. DO. YOU. NEED?!
And here’s the TRUTH: affordability is RELATIVE.
Not just to your budget, but to what you feel is worth YOUR money.
And that’s okay, always🤍
Every client, every provider, every experience.. different in the best way for a reason.
This isn’t about convincing anyone our worth, it's just about understanding the value behind the word.
