Motherhood is work and often unseen, and I aim to feature this goodness and be seen in my own motherhood.

Sometimes getting all of us in the frame doesn’t mean perfect smiles or even visible faces.
Sometimes it looks like this—tangled feet, laughter mid-motion, everyone close enough to touch.

Because the story isn’t in how we look… it’s in how we’re together.

I'm about 30 more pounds than I was when we got married.
There's now belly like a soft pillow as a reminder that I've birthed 3 children. I'm self conscious about missing teeth, and grey hair, and all the other things I'm being vulnerable about. I'm just like you. We all have our things don't we.

I also know that the self portraits I make aren't for me. They're for them. The children we have will have a photo of their momma.

This is us. Today. Playing and it's beautiful.

One photo might not feel special standing alone but collectively it's their childhood and my motherhood more valuable than any other possession. Documenting our time together and how that felt in the moment.

Hi, I'm Liz and I'm a family photographer in Lawton and Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I specialize in real life and making the mundane stand out in a as beautiful art to hang on your wall.

Laundry day, but make it childhood.

Small hands pushing baskets, reaching deep into machines, helping with work that keeps a home running. They think they’re just helping… but they’re learning rhythm, responsibility, and what it means to belong.

One day these ordinary errands will be the memories. The hum of machines, the smell of warm clothes, the quiet pride of “I did it.”

This is the beauty of the everyday documented that looks mundane and photographs beautifully. If I laundromat can look good, surely in your own home and familiar space would be something more valuable.

The beautiful ordinary

The moments we rush past, thinking they’re small…
are quietly becoming the memories we’ll ache to hold again someday.

Don’t underestimate the ordinary.
Sometimes five minutes is everything. ✨

This is apart of why we go to a chiropractor! _ We play really hard. BUT .... You might not know that I had chiropractic help to get pregnant every single time.

We lived in Lawton, Oklahoma for one of those (brogan) and used Dr. Michelle Adams. Who still practices here in town.
We currently drive over to Elgin @ Dr. Jill's Chiropractic and see her associate Dr. Warren.

From the looks of it we need to be going more often.

Some days motherhood looks like this.

You’re the one holding the cup, steadying the moment, making sure the laughter keeps going… even when you’re the one who feels like you might fall apart. Being sick doesn't care if your mom or anyone else.

The house is messy.
The laundry waits.
Dinner might be simple tonight.

Because sometimes the mother is the one who is sick, tired, worn thin… and still somehow the one holding everyone else up.

No one claps for the quiet strength it takes to keep showing up when your body needs rest and your heart feels heavy. Most of the work of motherhood happens in small rooms, behind closed doors, when no one else is watching.

But God sees it all.

He sees the tired knees on the bathroom floor.
The gentle hands pouring one more cup of water.
The patience you offer when you have almost none left.

Even when the world doesn’t notice, heaven does.

So if today feels like survival more than success, you’re not failing.
You’re being faithful in the unseen places.

And the God who called you to motherhood sees you there. 🤍. As a Fort Sill, Ok family documentary photographer I just knew I wanted a photo of even the hard things to encourage myself along the way.

He played hard all day.
Ran until his legs were tired and his eyes got heavy.

By the time the pizza came…
his little body had already given up.

Childhood is loud and wild and messy—
until suddenly it’s quiet like this.

Three years ago this was just a regular week in our house.

Spilled cereal across the floor.
Rain on the windows.
A kid asleep in a laundry toy box when there's a perfectly good bed next to it.
Breakfast conversations that no one will remember word for word.

At the time it felt messy. Loud. Ordinary.

But looking back now…
these are the moments that hold everything.

The blur.
The crumbs.
The forts under the table.
The way their little voices filled the kitchen.

This is the kind of story documentary photography keeps.

Not the perfectly posed version of family life —
but the real one.

The one you’ll ache to remember someday.

If you’ve ever wished you could freeze a regular day before it slips away, documentary family sessions are for exactly that.

Your real life.
Your beautiful blur.

Now booking in-home documentary sessions.

You won’t see the stitches in this frame.
You’ll just see softness.

But that’s the thing about photographs —
they hold both the ache and the healing at the same time.

This week was hard.
But love showed up louder when Sadie Mae got hurt. She has a staple in her head, wounds under her chin, and we go tomorrow to see if she has to have her eyeball removed.

Not every story is golden hour.
Some are stitches and slow movements and whispering, “be gentle.”

And still —
they are worth remembering.

Especially these.
