This, to me, is like a ballet. Powerful, precise, graceful. Every step deliberate. Every movement practiced until it becomes instinct.

Maybe I see it differently because I used to dance. Things aren’t effortless, you have to put in the work to make them look that way.

I think that’s part of what draws me to aviation.
I recognize something familiar.

The routine, the discipline, the drive to get every movement just right.

Then, for a moment, you forget how much work it takes.

You just watch it dance.

I haven’t posted here in a while, but I promise I’ve been taking plenty of photos.

We’ve had quite a few groups of T-38s coming through KFSM from both Laughlin and Vance lately. They’ve quickly become some of my favorite visitors to photograph. A lot of these pilots are students who will hopefully look back on these photos years from now and remember this part of their training, while some are instructors who may not find themselves on the other side of a camera very often. Getting to give them those memories is one of my favorite parts of what I do. They’re also super cool and kind, so that helps 😄

Yesterday, Tyler and I had the honor of filling in for Dave and handing out the mini American flags and patches he normally gives visiting crews. We learned very quickly that Dave has a MUCH better delivery than we do, but we tried. 😂🇺🇸

Catching up on airport time ✨

We had two T-38s from Vance come in mid-day on Monday. Spent some time with Dave. I snuck some pictures of him too. It’s truly amazing to see him in his element!

Of course, I’ve been getting the F-35s as well!

Good to finally have time to get back out there! (even though it’s incredibly hot)
