If you know me, you know that in February of this year, I lost my 'world and heart on four legs' to cancer. My Mocha Girl. I wasn't the only one who lost her. My family, close friends and our three cats and one very very special Marley lost her too.

Marley and I have been grieving hard. Taking Marley out for walks at the beginning was painful. She started with her excited dance, where Mocha would bump her and they'd play. Marley would run out the back door and put her nose to the air, searching for Mocha's scent to find her and bring her home. There is no shortage of tears when Marley and I think of Mocha.

The last weeks, Marley has been showing some signs of healing. She gets excited over the little things that brought her joy before. She dances when we start our walks. I'm going to share two of my favorite things here though...

When Marley is relaxed in the backyard and her ears are up, not 'back' and she enjoys the breeze, the birds chirping and watches me watching her. ❤ Then, there's the walks in my neighborhood. One of my neighbors has the best culvert. For years, Marley goes through that. Mocha used to wait for her at the end, they'd play fight and then Marley would race back in. Lately she'd go through and just run back in...run back out and we'd move on. Last week, she 'was back.' She came through, came out and did her roll and wiggle. She was grunting and doing her happy growl. She danced around. Her heart spoke to me and it was beautiful. For all the days we're not ok, this was a great day to be ok.

My Marley Girl....I'm just happy she's healing, one walk at a time.

This past Saturday, Mitzi, Jade and I were honored to photograph the Warriors And Rodeo event.

We have a lot of content to post over the next few days via our photog page and through the event.

Mitzi captured this great photo of David and Biscuit. Here is the conversation we imagined was happening between David and his Mustang:

Biscuit: Why did the man stand behind the horse?
Dave: Why?
Biscuit: He was hoping to get a kick out of it!
Dave: Oh, Biscuit….
