Caught this rainbow and sunset last Wednesday in Frankenmuth. I was out trying to get some photos of The Fortress golf course, but the light over town ended up stealing the show. Michigan skies never disappoint

I’ve been trying to capture the Fortress in the right light for a while now. The timing never seemed to work out until today. The sun finally broke through after a storm, and just as I was leaving my shop, I saw a rainbow forming north of town.

I knew I had to move fast if I wanted to catch it from the south side, and somehow I got there just in time. The light, the colors, and the clouds all came together for a few perfect minutes.

I went out hoping to photograph the golf course, but Mother Nature had other plans. I ended up with a few of my favorite shots of town too. Sometimes the best photos happen when you stop trying to control everything and just show up.
