Pattern Re-Release ✨

Nordic Trail was originally published in 2013 and has now been completely revamped! This aran/bulky-weight vest is knit seamlessly from the bottom up and includes lots of interesting details such as eyelets, back lace panel and faux side seams.

There are 9 sizes to pick from, ranging in finished circumference from 32.5” to 68”, and the updated pattern includes a link to a new tips page filled with helpful tutorials and guidance to support you along the way.

It’s that time of year again...Mud Season!

Named after Maine’s unofficial 5th season,this short-sleeved pullover is an easy, wearable layering piece and perfect for those in-between seasons (just like now!).

I first published Mud Season back in Spring of 2009 - wow 17 years ago 😳! It was my very first adult-sized garment design and it’s been so awesome to see so many people knit up this tee over the last almost 2 decades. It’s been revamped along the way, including adding lots of tips and tutorials.

I used bulky-weight yarn (this sample is in Ultra Alpaca Chunky), but another idea is you could double-strand a DK with a lace-weight mohair for a lighter feel.

The Downbeat, double-stranded 🧶

Recently knit my pattern ‘The Downbeat’ again, but added a strand of mohair for a little extra warmth and fuzz. Shown here in Heavy Merino + Soft Silk Mohair in color Plum Clay (picked up at the lovely on a recent visit).

Since this sweater is worked all in one piece from the top-down, it makes it easy to experiment with double-stranding if you’re new to it!

About the pattern: The Low-key vest was originally published 5 years ago (but recently revamped) and features: seamless bottom-up construction, a high/low split hem, 2 length versions (cropped or tunic) and 2 neck trim styles (crew or cowl). It calls for worsted-weight yarn and is shown here in Rios.

As a new year begins, I just want to say thank you for letting me be a small part of your knitting life ❤️

My goal has always been to create patterns that provide you with a clear, enjoyable knitting experience, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has chosen to spend their knitting time with my work (and I’m looking forward to creating even more of that in 2026!).

The photos here highlight some of the new designs I released in 2025. Not everything I worked on made it to the final published stage (there’s a big pile of “not quite there yet, but someday” designs!), but I’m grateful for what I was able to share and hope it offered some knitting inspiration to you this past year.

Another look at my new Sidekick scarf, knit in the beautiful worsted-weight yarn Flora from ✨

About the pattern...
Sometimes you need a project that strikes the perfect balance: repetitive but still engaging, easy but not boring, and portable enough to take anywhere. That’s what Sidekick is all about - it’s the kind of project that happily tags along wherever you go (just like a true sidekick)!

It’s an asymmetrical scarf featuring a simple, beginner-friendly, slip-stitch pattern and features worsted-weight yarn and 2 size options. The small (shown here in purple) takes just 1 skein and the large (shown here in yellow) takes 2 skeins.

However, gauge and/or size is super flexible with this piece. You just cast-on and go until you run out of yarn or reach your desired size.

Here’s another take on my new Triple Time design - this time, going solo instead of triple-stranded…

In this version, instead of triple-stranding lace-weight, I used a single-strand of aran/bulky (still using the same size needle and getting the same gauge)!

Shown here in Millstone Tweed by (aran-weight) in the color Grape.

Same pattern, different vibe (or sticking with the music theme - same melody, just in a different key!)

Introducing...Triple Time 🎶

In music, triple time can set a graceful rhythm full of movement. This design takes that idea both literally and figuratively: knit with lace-weight yarn triple-stranded on larger needles, it creates a soft, airy fabric that feels effortless to wear.

Shown here in the beautiful Aerial, a mohair/silk blend (in color Birch).

I consider this piece to be a companion pattern to my other recent design, The Downbeat. Not only do they share similarly music-inspired names, but they share the same construction-style and simplicity that allows you to explore different creative possibilities.

Use one color for all your strands (as shown here) or combine two or three hues. Want a denser fabric? Try one strand of worsted paired with one or two of lace-weight, or skip multi-stranding and use a single strand of aran or bulky. I go over all of these possibilities in my latest blog post!

New pattern! ✨

Introducing The Downbeat - a thoughtfully simple worsted-weight raglan-style pullover. It’s knit all in one piece from the top-down and features short rows to shape the neckline.

Shown here in Ultra Alpaca.

What inspired the name? In music, the downbeat is the first beat of the measure - the steady anchor that sets rhythm and melody in motion. The Downbeat sweater embodies that same spirit of possibility, serving as the starting point for your creativity!

Keep it simple and let the yarn take center stage, or use it as a backdrop for your own creative riffs. Either way, like every great song, it all begins with the downbeat! 🎶

A quick knit to get the Fall knitting season going ✨🍁

My Ice Breaker Top is knit in bulky-weight yarn, and in this version I used Remix Chunky. Made from recycled fibers, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a non-wool bulky yarn.

And knit up on a US 11 needle like I’ve done here in Ice Breaker, the fabric has a loftier, more relaxed feel with an easy drape - perfect for layering as the seasons change.
