🚨 HEADS UP DFW 🚨

Strong storms may cross into the Metroplex Thursday evening.

The HRRR model is showing a fairly strong line coming into DFW Thursday evening, and it appears the most likely timing is 6-8pm for this line of storms.

Likely nothing severe is expected but would be heavy rain, potential flash flooding, and gusty winds.

Right now it appears that this line starts to weaken and fall apart over the Metroplex so the western side is likely to see more than the eastern side of DFW, but hopefully it stays together so everyone gets some rain.

🚨 First WINTER COLD FRONT arrives Friday 🚨

The first truly cold blast of the year arrives Thursday/Friday for and and I can’t wait!

Are you excited for cooler temperatures this weekend?

It’s been a hot summer, and even fall hasn’t felt much like fall. BUT FINALLY the tide is turning and it’s turning much COOLER, even if it’s only temporary.

On the left of the HRRR model temperature forecast for 5pm CDT on Friday 10/16 and on the right is the HRRR model windchill forecast for 7am CDT on Saturday 10/17. LOOK AT THOSE TEMPERATURES!

On Friday, most of Oklahoma may struggle to get out of the 40s, with a north wind and windchill making it feel even colder. Most of Texas on Friday will see temperatures going DOWN throughout the day and the highs for the day are likely in the early morning before declining through the day.

On Saturday morning, the windchills will be down right FREEZING for Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle and just plain cold for everyone else.

The seasons are changing, finally!

🚨 OKLAHOMA: This is NOT good!!! 🚨

Wednesday night’s HRRR model is showing huge additional rainfall totals for southern and central Oklahoma, some areas which have already had flooding!

This is showing totals from 7pm Wednesday to 7pm Thursday (10/15). Norman already had 4.99” of rain Wednesday, making its 3rd wettest day on record, and this model wants to drop another almost 5” tonight and tomorrow. Paul’s Valley and points west could see an additional 6-8” which would cause big problems if accurate.

This is just one model so it won’t be exactly like this but I think it’s a safe bet that some locations in Oklahoma will have major flooding issues on Thursday!

Turn around, don’t drown!

Western Oklahoma received much needed rain Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. Areas along I-40 have received 7-8” of rain in just last 12 hours. Areas east of Foss, Oklahoma just north of I-40 have gone from fields to now lakes.

More rain is on the way and flooding is a big concern.
