As artists, we all know the feeling. Anticipation so strong it tests our patience. We build a mental list of shots to chase, places to explore, moments we’ve already imagined a hundred times over. It’s that restless in-between, where excitement borders on unbearable while we wait for the chance to create with something new.

I’ve never been more fired up for a camera launch than I am for the new MISSION 1 series. 🔥 🔥

Your heart races leading up to running and lifting off the top of a mountain, but the moment you’re airborne it’s instant peace. Having the fortunate opportunity to experience this in Austria, I’m going to look for paragliding wherever I travel that has the right environment, moving forward. So truly thankful. 😌

In 1988, my first day living in Coronado was spent right at this spot watching my new friends fish for stingrays. Fast forward to this morning and even though I’ve now been here and seen this a thousand times, it hasn’t lost even an ounce of that beauty that drew me in and made me realize just how fortunate I am to experience this place the way I did in my youth.

Ireland, one landscape at a time 🇮🇪 From Sligo to Kerry, following history, family, and place. These scenes are picked from my long-form video on discovering unknown family history in Ireland. (Link in Bio)

I’m happy to report that after watching countless people slip and fall on these slippery rocks in videos when searching for cool photo spots in this area, I didn’t lose my footing once, and that’s not normal for me, so huge success.

This is Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park, which was by far my favorite part of Ireland. Along with Glacier National Park in Montana, Killarney National Park has been designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO for both conservation and research and should also be used for research into footwear traction.

Circumstances meant visiting amazing photo spots mid-day, which led to having to turn to long exposures as the primary way to make something photographic out of a less-than-ideal situation. This helped add movement and character when the weather in Ireland is rarely not cloudy and windy, but in cases like shooting photographs at Giant’s Causeway, which is Northern Ireland’s version of Disneyland from a crowd standpoint, these long exposure times deleted all the people too, proving there’s always something we can do creatively provided we have the right tools.

The Giant’s Causeway is made up of roughly 40,000 basalt columns from an ancient volcanic eruption 60 million years ago. At this time, Ireland was still attached to North America. It’s no wonder I felt the Irish accent and the Canadian accent had some similarities. 😉 😜

Here in the US none of us own the bragging rights of having a 15th century castle in our backyard, but in Ireland we paid a lady a few euro to spend the evening in her yard so we could visit this tower house, said to be the last piece of land held by the Vikings, as it was easily defended. These days it’s defended by a few nice cats and some spiky large nettles that aren’t fun to kneel in to take a photo like this one.

Views of Oahu are unmatched from up here! Thankful for for the incredible flight and for being such a friendly and knowledgeable inspiration for our son who wants to be a pilot. If you’re ever on Oahu, book a flight with these guys!

I had such a blast this last week taking part in some 360 camera training sessions for the crew with my fam! One of my favorite things in the world is helping people develop good techniques for creating better photo and video by thinking outside the box, or in this case, under the rail. The tools we have available to us these days make everything possible so our only limit is our imagination. 🔥
