Something I'm learning: you don't have to monetize all of your hobbies. It should come from a place of passion, not dollar signs.
If someone wants to support you after the fact and buy the work or service that is your hobby, cool, a little extra money to put back into new work never hurts...but that shouldn't be the driving factor behind the creation.
Get out there and make some art for art sake, friends.💕

A small update:
I have decided for the time being to step away from portrait photography. While I do love being able to capture moments for people, I feel like it takes me away from my art. When shooting portraits, (whether that be couples, graduation, weddings, etc) I find myself obsessing over the reactions, the feedback, and making each picture fit a certain "viral aesthetic" instead of being work that looks and feels like me... because in portraiture, the client's satisfaction is the most important thing. This has left me feeling detached from photography and straying further and further away from the art that I am passionate about.

For this reason, I am putting a pause on accepting scheduling for new portrait sessions and returning to my personal work.

I will be posting a lot of that personal work here for those of you that would like to follow and I am selling prints of any of my personal work, so if you see something that catches your eye and you would like to display it in your home, let me know!
