Still tracking Friday, July 17. SPC held onto that 15% severe risk across Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania in their latest look. Here's what changed since yesterday: the newer forecasts are shoving the cool front a bit farther south, and if that trend sticks, the storm-fueling warmth and winds could end up south of where the storms want to fire, which would trim the risk back. On the flip side, the ensemble guidance still likes several rounds of storms in this stretch, so it's not going away either. Five days out with real disagreement in the models, so treat this as a genuine maybe and I'll firm it up as we get closer.
