Another day of strong storms across the Great Plains. Large hail (3in+) and a few strong tornadoes likely this afternoon/evening. Will be going live once storms develop.

TORNADO RISK UPGRADE!

Storm Prediction Center has increased the tornado probabilities for Sunday. A few intense tornadoes will be likely along with large hail.

Peak season has arrived…. THREE straight days of tornado chances across the plains.

Update from northeastern Kansas.

Tornado threat will increase this evening and overnight. A TORNADO OUTBREAK looks possible on Monday across Kansas.

HERE WE GO!!!

Peak severe weather season has arrived, and the next 6 days look very active across the plains and Midwest.

A few classic May dryline days are in the forecast Sunday and Monday. Sunday has intense tornadoes written all over it, and Monday much of the same. I will be leaving for Kansas late this evening for the severe weather risk tomorrow.

Watching Saturday close!

A few supercells look likely across Kansas and Nebraska. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible.

This will be the first of chase of peak season for me, and will start our extended storm chasing in the plains. Make sure to follow along for the journey.

6:30pm Update!! ‼️

A tornado watch has been issued for much of North Central Arkansas! 🌪️

We are currently posted up in Clinton Ar, monitoring a developing cluster of thunderstorms to our west. We’re keeping a close eye on these!! Stay tuned for a chase live stream if cell service permits!

The SPC has upgraded parts of the risk area for tomorrow across Mississippi and Alabama. A few strong tornadoes will be possible with the strongest storms.

UPGRADE!

Confidence is growing that a significant tornado or two could occur tomorrow across Mississippi and Alabama. If any supercell can remain discrete, it poses an all-hazards threat.

Timing still looks to be late afternoon and into the evening. Damaging winds still remain the greatest threat with this system.

GOOD NEWS... This area remains in a rainfall deficit and severe drought conditions. Some models show 2-3" of rainfall, which will help alleviate the drought conditions.

With all the severe weather in the forecast today, let's not forget about tomorrow. Strong tornadoes will be possible across Mississippi and Louisiana as the front pushes southward.

MORNING CHASE UPDATE ‼️

Hi-res models continue to paint a significant tornado across much of central Arkansas this evening. Storms will fire off across the Ozarks and move eastward, with the tornado threat increasing closer to sunset.

The terrain in the Ozarks is not chaser-friendly, but storms should move into better terrain right when the tornado threat is ramping up. We will head towards Batesville and monitor data from there. Make sure to pay close attention to watches and warnings!
