Today is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. I wanted to post about the only one professional photographer who died when the twin towers collapsed.

"I'm safe, I'm with the firemen"

The last message from William G. Biggart to his wife Wendy.

Biggart was the only professional news photographer to be killed as a result of the collapse of the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001 - 25 years ago today.

The image shows photojournalist Bill in happier times, alongside his camera equipment and press card recovered from the collapse.

Bill's images from the day have been published posthumously by his estate and can be viewed, along with his story via the link I'll add in the comments section.
