We spend months preparing for birth…

…but what about everything that comes after?

The fourth trimester is a season of healing, learning, resting, and getting to know your baby. It can feel deeply beautiful, but it also asks so much of mothers.

What if you entered postpartum with a plan instead of just hoping it all works out?

✨ Join me for a cozy afternoon as we prepare your postpartum nest together. We’ll talk about nourishment, creating a supportive village, protecting your rest, caring for your emotional well-being, and practical ways to make those first weeks with your baby feel a little softer.

Whether you’re expecting your first baby or your fourth, I hope you’ll leave feeling more prepared, supported, and excited for the season ahead.

🗓 Friday, August 22
🕑 2:00–4:00 PM
📍 Freedom House, Leesville
$25 per person or couple

I’d love to see you there. Let’s prepare for the fourth trimester together. ✨

You don’t have to be a bodyworker to help someone feel better.

One of the most beautiful things about this class is watching mamas realize that healing doesn’t always require force, fancy techniques, or years of training. Sometimes all it takes is slowing down, learning to listen with your hands, and creating a space where the body feels safe enough to let go.

In Hands that Heal, I teach simple myofascial release techniques that you can use with your partner, your children, your friends. They’re gentle, practical, and designed to be used at home long after class is over.

Watching these moms leave feeling empowered instead of intimidated is why I keep teaching.

✨ If you’ve ever wished you could ease someone’s headaches, back tension, neck pain, or stress with your own two hands, this class was made for you.

Keep an eye out for the next Hands that Heal workshop, or send me a message if you’d like to be the first to know when registration opens. I have a September 19th set aside tentatively for your next opportunity to learn!

This month’s Root to Rise circle left me sitting with a truth that has been following me into therapy, motherhood, and my work as a midwife:

Sometimes the hardest part of being human is allowing two things to be true at once.

We read an excerpt from Wild Feminine about the illusion of control. As I began reading, the room grew quiet. I could feel the energy in the room rising as the tension built in the story. The babies started to fuss and the words touched something familiar in each of us.

Our conversation unfolded in beautiful and unexpected ways.

One mother shared about surrendering her daughter’s diagnosis to God because she has realized she cannot control the outcome.

Another reflected on a birth that didn’t go according to plan.

I found myself talking about my own daughter and the relationships she will choose throughout her life. I can’t control how folks show up for her. I can only choose how I show up.

And then one mom laughed and said, “But that’s hard. I can control a lot of things.”

We all laughed because… she’s right.

We can influence so much.

We can love fiercely.
We can repair.
We can create safety.
We can apologize.
We can prepare.
We can be present.

And still…

We cannot control another person’s story.

As a midwife, I’ve learned this lesson over and over. I prepare diligently. I bring my skills, my knowledge, and my full presence. But I am not there to control birth. I am there to walk beside a mother as her story unfolds.

Maybe parenting asks the same of us.

Sometimes I wonder if we’re all just little critters—souls on the playground of Earth—here to experience the fullness of being alive. To climb. To fall. To wonder. To make mistakes. To heal. To become.

Maybe our children aren’t ours to protect from every scrape, heartbreak, or disappointment.

Maybe they’re ours to accompany.

To be a steady place they can return to.

To love deeply.

And to hold loosely.

That feels like one of the greatest invitations of motherhood.

I’m so excited to share that Nurtured Roots has a new gathering space! ✨

Beginning this month, our community events—including the Root to Rise Mothers’ Circle—will be held at Freedom House.

It feels especially fitting that just in time for July’s circle, we’ve found a space that is becoming a true hub for gathering, growing, and healing together.

I hope to see so many mamas there this coming Tuesday. ❤️

As always, if you’re able, please bring a pot of soup to share. We’ll enjoy a meal together, and any leftovers will be added to our postpartum freezer meal stash for local mothers who need a little extra care.

Just this week, I had the honor of delivering some of those meals to a mama from our group, and it nearly made my heart burst. Moments like that remind me that community isn’t something we simply hope for—it’s something we build together.

If you’re longing for a village, come be a part of ours. 🌿

What happens when mothers gather to remember the power of touch?

A room full of women.
Hands on shoulders.
Hands on heads.
Hands on hearts.

Questions.
Laughter.
Tears.
Stories.

For generations, care was passed from person to person through observation, presence, and touch.

At Hands that Heal, we spent three hours remembering.

Not learning how to fix people.

Learning how to listen.

Learning how to create safety.

Learning how to support the people we love with our own hands.

Hands That Heal was born from the belief that healing touch belongs in families.

And after this first class, I know we’re just getting started.

My next class is taking place at If you’re a member at their practice, reach out for more details on how you can join in and start healing your family through your own touch.

✨ COLUMBIA, SC and Batesburg, Aiken, Lexington areas!! ✨

It’s officially official! I am now accepting home birth clients in my own private practice! With both a rural office and one right on Main Street in Columbia, I am so pleased to be taking clients in both regions.

My midwifery care is rooted in trust in your body, your intuition, and your unique path to motherhood. I believe you know what’s best for you and your baby, and I’m here to support you with respect, options, and deep listening. You are capable of growing, birthing, and nourishing your baby, and I trust your ability to recognize when something doesn’t feel right. When needed, I offer holistic guidance to help you navigate with confidence.

I believe that touch is our first resource for healing and utilize fascia release techniques throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period to ease the transitions of motherhood. I believe touch is a human right and that bodywork can transform your experience of pregnancy and birth.

There’s something really special that happens when a mother feels it in her own hands.

In this session, her son wanted her close.
So while I worked with his lower body, I asked her to hold his head.

You can see the moment it clicks for her.
When she feels the shift.
When she realizes his body is responding.

That moment matters.

✨

I love teaching moms how to work with their own kids.

You don’t have to know everything about the body to notice when something feels off.
You don’t have to be an expert to offer your child something meaningful through touch.

You just have to be willing to slow down and pay attention.

✨

This is why I created Hands That Heal.

A space where you can learn how to understand tension in the body and begin working with it in a simple, effective way.

For yourself.
For your kids.
For your family.
