Custom frames Contributing to my flair for creativity since childhood, the artist riding hidden in my soul has been an unending source of inspiration. I’ve acc

epted my responsibility to shape that nascent creativity, allowing me new freedom in expressing myself. That original passion has matured, honed by exposure to the analytical rigors of science, enabling me unique inspired vision. My work includes photography, pen & pencil sketch, watercolor, and sculpture. I write essays & poetry, occasionally performing as a jazz vocalist

emergeART ™ was created as a vehicle to market my artwork which is inspired by the motto,

“The Universe is found art … from chaos emerges beauty”

On serious observation of the intrinsic beauty displayed in the detail of natural elements such as wood, rocks, sunsets or indeed the entire universe one may reflect on the fact that sophisticated patterns seem to originate from simple elements arranged in repetitive but complex forms. Properties of organization in the natural world allow intricate patterns of sometimes stunning and seemingly unexplainable beauty to EMERGE from out of chaos. Comprehension of the universality of chaos and emergent forms of order leads us to a deeper understanding of not only nature in its “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” (Charles Darwin) but also to a more in-depth appreciation of the art inherent in all creation. These insights can be used to provide new and exciting ways to express oneself through natural forms of shape and light. All inspired by the recognition of the nature of emergent patterns that are indeed universal and surround us all. My approach to art is unconventional as I combine the view of an analytical mind with the heart of an artist. This enables me to create uniquely inspired pieces using my technological background in addition to my artistic vision in synergy. Trained as a chemist, engineer and pilot I am semi-retired and have embarked on a journey to cultivate my spiritual and artistic nature. While creating much of my art using traditional methods My broad background gives me an unusual technological perspective and provides me with a unique and intimate knowledge of the properties of materials. As a youth I was always interested in arts and craft related hobbies. A ‘nature boy’ who explored the pine forests and bayous, I developed a familiarity and appreciation for simple beauty inherent in the environment. I was a designer and builder, learning tool operation, electronic circuitry and a wealth of modeling techniques. As a teen I ‘developed’ an interest in photography and scratched together my own darkroom. I worked in discount stores as a baby photographer and shot industrial gigs with one photo featured in Fleet Owner Magazine published by McGraw Hill. I designed brochures and catalog leafs using literal cut and paste techniques and advanced with technology to the use of computers. Over the years of modeling and in restoration of antique aircraft I learned simple metalwork and foundry techniques including welding, mold making and casting. As a consultant and engineer I have designed prototype and production equipment. Dual BS degrees in both Chemistry and Biology were attained over several years while working part time as an entrepreneur selling cars and aircraft or repairing commercial printing equipment and consumer electronics as well as a chemist for a small startup. Then I worked as a technician and chemist in a crime lab as a toxicologist. I worked as an engineer in a semiconductor prototype facility working in photo and etch and eventually became a process troubleshooter for a Motorola subdivision. With the experience I gained working with multiple clients I found myself a capital equipment salesman environment ($1.5M electron microscope at ASU Material Science Dept.) I have been fortunate to visit the 'basement labs' of some of the country’s most prominent research facilities such as Sandia, Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore. At the Morton Thiokol facility in 1986 I actually handled the infamous O-ring material that caused the Challenger space shuttle disaster. Pursuant to a lifetime interest in aviation I trained to be a pilot and shortly after, at the age of 22, I rebuilt my first aircraft. Since then I have owned and restored various antique aircraft and currently own three antique or classic aircraft, a 1940 Taylorcraft BC-65, a 1951 Bellanca 14/19 Cruisemaster and a 1958 Piper PA28-180 Comanche. I have flown everything from biplanes to jet aircraft and have ferried aircraft across the breadth of this beautiful country. In my home I maintain an esoteric collection of historical aviation, scientific, technical and personal artifacts, as well as antique tools. For fifteen years I have been a computer and network consultant and installed a computer lab and lectured on computer technology at a charter school. I am a science judge and moderator at the Arizona Science Bowl and I have tutored science and mathematics as well as taught disabled adults and special needs children in arts and crafts. Volunteering and secular humanism have seemed to always return more than I ever gave and allowed me to meet celebrities like William Shatner and Jon Voight or Intellectuals such as Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. My work has been displayed at local galleries and my photography was once used in a commercial during 'The Johnny Carson Show' on TV. Larger pieces have been featured as displays at conventions. My portfolio spans over 35 years and includes published brochures and catalog leafs and logo/banner design as well as fine art and portrait work. An Arkansas Gazette newspaper article featured me (photographed in my 1941 Taylorcraft) as a 'Latter Day Lindbergh'. I have appeared on local television and radio interviews both as a chemist and as a military officer at Laughlin AFB. I love to sing and have an excellent voice and sing as a Jazz vocalist in a New York style. I have performed live on stage as a vocalist in various venues, jammed at 'The Orbit', ‘Gaslight Inn’, ‘Barwinkles’ and performed with the Kerry Campbell Quartet at 'Johnny's Uptown'. I admire Nat King Cole and the modern piano talent and vocal styling of Harry Connick, Jr. My repertoire includes jazz standards with some modern flavor thrown in for a mix. However, my abiding interest and passion will always be classical music and the works of Beethoven. While I am very happy with the work I have done so far, I see my limitations and I have much to learn in advanced technique. I strive to constantly improve my knowledge and craft. Promising initial efforts and the encouragement I have received over the years, first from friends and now from customers, have made it clear this new and exciting avenue of adventure is my new ‘path less taken’. I plan to develop professionally as an artist and make a lasting contribution incorporating what I believe are my unique talents and vision. Tim Kiehl 2012 (revised 16 Feb, 2016)

A fun video created to accompany this model flier I constructed as a prototype of 17ft version which were both displayed at Comicon and art galleries as an interactive multimedia exhibit, here's a link to a fun video created to accompany this model flier I constructed. A 17ft version was built for the Alwun House Steampunk Gala many years ago and subsequently displayed at Comicon. Leprecon and other fan conventions as well as hanging at Warehouse 1005 where it was a hit on 1st Friday Art Walk, people coming to see it more than once.

here's an old profile description from Linkedjn. I was thinking of renewing my work in emergeART and trying to get exposure. I have a new URL emergeART.art which I hope to flesh out. Any one have time to review and critique" I know I often get too wrapped up in my enjoyment of the process of writing (I like to think of myself as a wordsmith hammering heated words into a pleasant form ;-) )I However I do tend to become rather loquacious and bombastic in style (obviously lol)

"unconventional and complex person with the viewpoint of an scientist or engineer's analytical mind combined with the heart and soul of an artist. I work in multiple media, from traditional two dimensional works in pencil, charcoal, pastels and watercolor, as well as photography to material media ranging from ceramics to wood and steel as single or mixed medias as well as perform in the entertainment arts as a jazz vocalist.
Trained as a scientist, engineer and military pilot I have semi-retired and am now embarked on a journey to foster and cultivate the spiritual and artistic nature of my talents. Combined with my technical training and natural creativity I work to develop the fine combination of intellect and intuition that allows me to explore a broad range of media and venues.
I conceived of EmergeART as a vehicle to sell my work that is inspired by the motto, “The Universe is found art, from chaos emerges beauty”. Most of my art is created by traditional methods but often with a new twist or perspective allowed me by my understanding of materials technology developed over years of experience as a chemist, engineer and researcher. This scientific and industrial background allows me an advanced technological perspective and provides me with a unique and intimate knowledge of the real properties of many materials, traditional and exotic. I have worked in craft related "hobbies" from an early age and won multiple awards for my work in several media as a youth. I now plan to use an admixture of these early creative experiences and natural talents with my now advanced knowledge of materials technology to great advantage. Over the years I have developed techniques to craft and shape the more established media such as wood, clay, glass and traditional metals. I also gained insight to fabricate creations in modern and/or exotic materials in which I take of advantage my experience with the properties of advanced ceramics and composite materials as well as aluminum or stainless steel using such tools as TIG welding. Of course, while it may assist in establishing new techniques, no technical knowledge can surpass the need for the eye and skills of an experienced craftsman, and I continue to work on attaining higher levels of craft.
My interest in photography began as a teen and set up my own processing lab and darkroom, building the enlarger from old camera lenses. I have worked in "discount stores" taking baby pictures as well as industrial photography with photos published in "Fleet Owner" magazine published by McGraw Hill. My portfolio spans over 35 years and includes published brochures and catalog leafs as well as fine art and portrait work. I performed design and layout for brochures and catalogs using the "literal" cut and paste techniques of the past but have grown with the industry and have advanced to the use of computer graphics and photographic techniques.
I am also talented in the more traditional visual as well as performing arts. My sketches and paintings mostly indicate innate and raw talent as I lack advanced training . Because I seem to show promise in these amateur efforts I plan on advanced training to develop professionally in these areas. While I am very happy with the work I have done so far I see the limitations due to my lack of experience in some media and I admit I have much to learn in advanced technique. I work constantly to improve in these areas, especially in the theory and practice of the use of color creatively, but feel positive that I can grow and develop my talents in these areas as well, given time.
I occasionally will perform live on stage as a Jazz Vocalist including light comedy in the appropriate venue and have jammed at "The Orbit" as well as performed with the Kerry Campbell Quartet at "Johnny's Uptown" (local Jazz Clubs, both now defunct). Cole Porter is a favorite composer and I admire the vocal talent of Nate King Cole. I am willing and able to sing the entire Jazz Standard repertoire with some modern flavor thrown in for a mix.
I have taught classes and/or tutored in both the arts and advanced science and mathematics as well as worked with adults and children with disabilities in arts and crafts. I also installed a full computer lab and designed and taught the curriculum for a class in basic computer technology at a local charter school.
I became a pilot and rebuilt my first aircraft at the age of 22 and since I have restored antique aircraft and own two antique and classic aircraft, a 1940 Taylorcraft BC-65 and a 1951 Bellanca Cruisemaster and a 2003 Zodiac 601HDS (experimental). I have a BS in both Chemistry and Biology. I worked my way through college as an entrepreneur selling cars and aircraft and as a technician on commercial printing equipment and consumer electronics. I have photographed babies at K-Mart and published commercial industrial photographs. My artwork has been displayed in gallery settings and photos were used in local commercials broadcast during "The Johnny Carson Show" on late night TV. I was featured (with photograph) as a "Latter Day Lindbergh" in a Arkansas Gazette article and appeared on local television and radio interviews (as a chemist for "Breakaway Tech" and as an military officer at Laughlin AFB). I have worked as a technician and chemist in industrial settings and in a crime lab as a toxicologist. I was an engineer in a semiconductor prototype facility working in photo and etch. I was a process troubleshooter for plasma etch equipment for a Motorola subdivision. I sold high technology capital equipment (such as the $1.8M electron microscope at ASU Material Science Dept.) and have been in the "basement labs" of some of the most research facilities in the country (in 1986 I handled a sample of the infamous "o-ring" from the Challenger Shuttle disaster at the Morton Thiokol facility). As a military officer I trained to flight jet aircraft and I have ferried several aircraft across the country. I have been installing and repairing custom computer systems for 15 years. I have a small collection of unique historical aviation artifacts and antique tools.
I've flown biplanes to jets, worked in a crime lab and as a professional photographer as well as a scientist, engineer and consultant. A successful salesman, entrepreneur and artist, I also restore antique aircraft and build and repair computers. Enough?"

I have lucked on to an artist domain that is perfect. I've been trying to get a good emergeART search domain but I made the mistake of searching for a good one like emergeART.com long ago and not snapping it up immediately. You may not know it but there are as***le domain registries that look at recent searches and snap up that name it it isn't purchased at the moment you find it available. Then when you search s for it again they own it and try to gouge you! REALLY!

I finally tried emergeART.net at GoDaddy.com but they raised the yearly cost every year I had it. I lucked out and snared a new artist domain name holder and got emergeART.art! AND instead of being gouged for several hundred dollars it's only $12.00/year, permanently. If you're an artist and have had the same problem check them out at https://get.art/en

As soon as it's fully registered and I can build a website I'll get it up.

BLOG POST..

What happens to my search ranking on Google if I switch my website to .art?

It has been demonstrated that new domains, such as .art, can improve search results. New domains do at least as well as “.com” names in search. In fact, it has been empirically demonstrated that domain name extensions that have meaning (e.g., .art) can perform better than those that do not. This is especially true when the domain keywords (think www. keyword1.keyword2) are semantically linked.

According to a recent study, in search, the factor with the most importance is an “exact match” between the keyword search term and the root domain name. The survey used the example of keyword.com. However, with the new gTLD domain names, that is changing. It is highly likely that Keyword1.Keyword2 will help a website show up at the top of the search results for a “keyword1 keyword2” search query. The domain name itself plays a major role. If the domain name is Keyword1Keyword2.com or Keyword1.Keyword2, there is a higher chance that other websites will refer to that domain name as “keyword 1 keyword 2”, using the keywords in the domain name. This has a big effect on how the search engines, as well as end users, view the domain name and the website that’s linked to that domain name.

These search improvements can be enhanced by understanding some common “good housekeeping” practices such as refreshing content, establishing blogs, and creating referral links in other sites.

Buy a premium domain in the .ART zone and make your business special! A domain name is the first thing a visitor sees. Therefore, make your domain to be memorable, set you apart from others and be the real face of your site and business
