Two of my recent images in a Sky & Telescope article (published today) discussing Starlink satellite flares and their mis-identification as UAPs. This predictable, repetitive flaring phenomenon has only become visible in the last few years as the Starlink constellation has become significantly built out.

Under the right conditions, Starlink satellites can flare as brightly as Venus, confusing ground observers and airline pilots alike.

On Monday from UT, I happened to catch my second rocket venting in two days, this one China's first launch of the new LongMarch 6C variant, and I happened to catch two sequential orbit passes. On the first pass the booster flies out of earth's shadow into sunlight. The plume is likely propellant being vented to low earth orbit.
