Some sessions are truly special on a deeply personal level. This is one of those. For me, a true “full-circle” moment.

I’ve known Cara for over 10 years. In that time, I’ve watched her learn and grow from an adolescent to the woman she is today. I took her high school grad photos back in Mississippi during a time that feels almost like yesterday and 20 years ago at the same time.

When she told me she was moving to Denver to pursue her graduate degree, I was excited for her and selfishly happy to have a piece of home so near. Fun fact - I was the leader of her church Youth Group when I met her and she officiated my wedding here in Colorado years later. Over the years, our relationship has grown from mentorship to a friendship that I value dearly.

She’s amazingly dedicated and hardworking. I’m so proud of her and all that’s she’s accomplished and can’t wait to see where her life takes her next.

Congratulations, Cara! You’re gonna go far, kid. ❤️

After 117 blurry timer shots and a baby eating my hair, we got some good ones.

Perfect is never the goal - even when it comes to documenting my own family. This is the stage we’re in and I’m too busy experiencing it. And those blurry pics? Sometimes they’re my favorites ❤️

The rocks. The light. The two of them.
Garden of the Gods doesn’t need much help being dramatic — but golden hour? That’s just unfair.

Everything goes warm and glowy and the landscape does half the work. The other half? That’s all them.

This spring and summer, Come Meet Me at the Market! 👋🏻🐝🧺

One of the things I LOVE about living in a small community is market days! I love browsing all the stalls, supporting local businesses, making new friends and saying hi to old ones 😁

For all the Coal Creekers, I can’t wait to celebrate our special little community with you! For everyone else, take the day and mosey isn’t the mountains to check out our little town! You won’t regret it!

Starting May 9th, I’ll be at the listed markets with sun tea, work samples, and a different themed mini session backdrop at each one! Come get a few special portraits taken to enter for your chance to win a free session at the end of the market season. Or just stop by and say hi! I love to yap! 😉
