Part three of Natalie + Kent 🤍

Just the two of them. Young love, Montana light, and one of those days that somehow felt like a movie from start to finish.

Everything was soft and dreamy and so completely them. The way he looked at her. The way she lit up around him. The quiet little in-between moments when they forgot I was even there.

These are always some of my favorite images from a wedding day because when all the noise fades away, this is what it’s really about. Two people completely crazy about each other, starting a whole new life together.

That moment when your senior suddenly forgets what to do with her hands, her face, her entire body 😂

First rule: DO NOT say, “Just relax.”
Second rule: DO NOT say, “Act natural.”
Because now she’s thinking, Wait… do I look uncomfortable?!

When I feel a senior starting to freeze up, I stop worrying about the perfect pose and give her something easy to do.

Things I actually say:

“Look at me like I just said something ridiculous.” And then actually say something ridiculous! They laugh because you’re so cringe!

“Walk toward me and don’t look at the camera until I tell you.”

“Shake your arms out. Now give me your serious face… nope, way too serious.” 😂

“Fix your hair like you’re not even being photographed.” I say shoosh it!

“Look over there like the cutest boy you’ve ever seen just walked by.”

Sometimes I’ll completely change the subject and ask about friends, college, music, anything that gets her brain OFF the camera.

Because most seniors don’t need better posing instructions.

They need you to make them forget they’re being posed.

That’s when the shoulders drop, the real smile comes out, and suddenly she looks like herself again.

Photographers, SAVE this for the next time your senior freezes.

And seniors, if you’re worried you’ll be awkward during your session, this is literally my job. You do not have to know what you’re doing before you get here. 🤍

Your senior session should actually feel like YOU. Whatever your style is, let’s build your session around it. Western, edgy, colorful, editorial, classic, totally outside the box… I’ve got lots of ideas, and I’m pretty sure you do too.

That’s the fun part. We collaborate, throw around ideas, find the right locations, plan the looks, and create something that doesn’t look like everybody else’s senior pictures.

We did SO many fun, different looks at her senior session, but this one might be my favorite. An old Ford truck, red cowboy boots, a little Texas attitude… yes please.

This is one of my favorite things about the senior experience I offer. We don’t just show up, take a few pretty pictures and call it done. We create a full session with different looks, different locations and images that actually feel like YOU.

N + K wedding, part two 🤍

Can we just talk about this place for a second? The big old red barn, the river, the trees, the mountain air. Montana really had no business being this pretty. The Farm Montana

But Natalie was still the prettiest part of the whole day.

The ceremony was simple and sweet and somehow made you feel every single bit of it. Nothing overdone, just meaningful and full of love.

And then there was this bridal party 😂 Such a fun group and exactly the kind of people you want around you on a wedding day. Lots of laughs, lots of chaos, and so much love for Natalie and Kent.

This whole day just felt special. Beautiful without trying too hard. Emotional without being stuffy. And so very them.

I’m still not over it. Or Montana. Or Natalie as a bride. 🤍

When you get hired to fly to Montana to photograph a wedding… you already know I’m going to be talking about it for a while. 🤍

I’ll be sharing pieces of this beautiful day all week, but I wanted to start with the part before the dress, before the ceremony, before everything got real… the girls laughing, helping, hyping her up and soaking in those last few moments before she became a wife.

Natalie is just one of those people who is so incredibly special, and getting to be there to document this season of her life meant more than I can say. And y’all… she made the most beautiful bride. Just wait until you see. 🥹

These getting-ready photos always get me because they’re more than pretty pictures. They’re her people. Her memories. The nervous laughs, the happy tears, the chaos and the quiet little moments in between.
