A sky full of colors…with Lake Michigan views that can leave you downright breathless (the good kind of breathless, of course! 😉) My latest focus (or perhaps obsession 😂), has been catching some beautiful light Tunnel Park’s overlook, as combined with the positioning of the sun this time of year (and these views), it just plain makes for some gorgeous scenery!

Last evening’s conditions looked especially interesting, with the fog that was off shore, as well as the satellite cloud tracking. While I was ultimately aiming for that perfect ‘mystical / foggy / sunsetting’ scene lol…the leading up to the actual sunset was a tad TOO dense (and very atmospheric, hovering right along at ground level haha).

While my initial vision did not align, THIS one surely did - and I’ll take it! Minutes after the sun had set, the fog began to dissipate, and this exposed these burning clouds behind it! Have a fantastic Wednesday evening, everybody! 🩷

A sky still burns after the sun sets behind the horizon…just as the near distant embers from a beach fire still holds on as campfire smoke softly is guided by the soft breeze and out of the north. The sky illuminates the calm Lake Michigan water, and the textured dune of this peaceful scene.

A softly burning sky, so sweet….strung of cotton candy amidst the baby blues, casting itself brilliantly on the calm water in the near distance, and the softly textured beach below it.

This scene of pure perfection takes us to this past Thursday evening, at this pristinely beautiful and peaceful beach in (the always pristinely beautiful!) Oceana County! The sky in every direction was just beyond words beautiful 🩷😍🔥

Grand Haven shimmer and gold…in technicolor 😍 Taking it back to a warm, first of June evening (also Monday)! This past Monday was such a beautiful evening of glorious light and warm, vibrant color. I always just love how the light and color reflects on the water below…and I especially love this rolling mini wave of this scene. I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday and weekend! 🧡⛵️🩷

Moments before dawn breaks….a splash of color and a dose of zen take hold of Michigan’s premier ‘exotic island’ trail. A Hamlin Lake so calm that it strikingly compares to glass, and the crimson morning sky and billows of color meld into it. The only motion seen in that water….the occasional minnow or cute little water critter floating along the surface, or catching a morning snack.

This was the beautiful morning that was Friday….and the beautiful start to my day of adventures in the north! And on a very wonderful, separate note: thank you SO much to you all, for the many incredible and kind words regarding my Pure Michigan billboards post! I am one lucky lady for every single one of you, and your continued support of my work truly means the absolute world! I am catching up on comments, and reading each of them truly makes my day. To ever think…that this image of Big Sable Lighthouse under the prettiest of pink skies (and most perfect of scenes in every way possible), would be displayed on billboards throughout Michigan (and far away as Chicago)? And the icing on that cake is, it’s part of Pure Michigan’s 20th Anniversary celebration! 🎉 I am simply elated and over the moon over all of this - that this creative outlet of mine and one that began as nothing more than a passion 7 years ago, has blossomed into this.

I absolutely adore photographing this beautiful state. I put my heart and soul into capturing the beauty that of our state, and to say that I am truly honored to see my work on display for millions of passerby throughout Michigan, and Chicagoland…that is truly an understatement! As my fiance and I were cruising down 131 southbound and coming into downtown Grand Rapids, I started pointing and sobbing like a baby, and said…”That’s mine, that’s mine!” 😂

Haha it all just seems SO surreal. Little ole me. My work on a billboard! Who would’ve thought?! So if you’re traveling on one of Michigan’s (or Chicago’s) highways….keep your eyes peeled for the ever majestic Big Sable under the most gorgeous of pink skies! Happy new week, everyone! 🩷

And (as hoped!)….those rain squalls over the lake turned to straight fire! Straight north winds pushing clouds (and clearing straight south), combined rain predicted to not touch the shore….makes for the perrrfect sunset fire recipe! What a treat last night was😍🔥🔥🔥

More cute lil birdies for your Instagram and Facebook feeds! 😉 Yesterday morning I took in the sunrise at my favorite little park on N Scenic Dr in beautiful northern Muskegon County, and as I was sitting on a bench sipping on my coffee, I saw him. Handsome Mister Catbird (and sitting pretty for me on a perfect birch branch too!)! Lol those little cuties seem to follow me around! A couple more are some pretty, little finches from after I returned home yesterday morning 😍 I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and has an equally wonderful week!

Sunset. On the rocks, and under a sky so intensely bright and colorful, that it casts all of that beauty on the water that gently rushes to the meet that very pristinely rock-lined shoreline.

I am confident, that this demonstrates precisely why I can never resist catching light, a color rich sky and water rushing over the rocks the reside along Point Betsie’s beautiful shore, where they shine so brilliantly, basking in vibrant color and the most perfect of ambiance.
