Pre-dawn color and magenta perfection sure do pair perfectly, with the golden goodness of goldenrod along quiet little lake! September skies - and all of the dreamy scenery and vibes that come with them, have been really been making their presence known this week 😍 Last evening makes three days in a row, of sky and scenery perfection! It’s been so downright perfect (and I have accumulated so many images these past few days), that’s it’s tough to choose what to share with everyone next! Haha this is a very great ‘problem’ to have 😂 Happy Friday, and I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend! 🩷⛵️

When the scenery could easily pass for exotic barren dune land, and take your breathe away beach exquisiteness…all in one! Monday evening atop one of my favorite dune bluffs around, was THE definition of perfection!

Also side note: I am not even remotely phased by how stupidly hot and humid this week as been - or that ‘summer is not officially over yet’ (blah, blah, blah 😂). My favorite season is indeed in the air. It’s right around the corner - and I couldn’t possibly be more excited! 😍🍂

Last evening…..the most perfect place to be….was on the water! Although the truth is, that since I was having a very lovely dinner at with my mom, and I quite literally flew out of the restaurant while we were awaiting our entrees, and grabbed some very quick shots of this dreamy scenery (😂), I personally was not on the water (400mm lens zoom is a fantastic thing haha! Such a perfect evening with my mom, and I am glad that I ran out to the beach for a few shots! And on that note, I am also thankful that Noto’s on the Bil Mar has THE best location and views…right on the beach! Have the best Saturday, everybody! 🩷⛵️

Totally worth staying up late for. The deep (96%) partial lunar eclipse was positively spectacular, and downright surreal, just after midnight this morning. And an added bonus: viewing was perfect - right from the convenience and comfort of the front yard! No traveling required 🙌 Happy Friday, everybody! 🌝🔥

The Grand Haven trifecta: sunset. Sailboats. Surf! ⛵️🔥🌊 I just love when the lake is a lil rowdy, and last evening had it all! This also meant, that I was in my classically known ‘get super low sniper’ mode hahaha…also known as my classic get right under those waves, and end up covered in wet sand mode! 😂 But as I will say every single time….when it comes to perspectives and compositions such as this, it’s 100% worth it!

I am looking forward to a whole lot more of these kinds of of dramatic scenes and crisp vibes as we inch closer and closer to my favorite times of year: the end of summer’s transition to fall, and….FALL! I shamelessly love fall - and very much in fact, my love for it outweighs the hot, muggy (and wildfire smoky) months of summer by a long shot! Happy Thursday evening, everybody! 🩷

💙 Water flows freely over a driftwood resting peacefully along the shore, while a sky seemingly strung of pink cotton candy (and the first quarter moon) shines brightly overhead, as a brilliant compliment to this perfect blue hour scene 🩷

One of my favorite elements to photograph….is water! I love love nothing more than playing with a wide variety of shutter speeds, allowing me to also capture a wide variety of textures, water flows and movement! In this image captured on a peaceful evening along N Scenic Drive in beautiful Whitehall this past Thursday, I had my shutter speed set to 1/5 of a second.

This slowed the shutter down just enough, giving it that ‘ethereal’, smooth look, while still capturing some texture too! I was loving this entire vibe to this scene, and am thankful I was there to capture it! Happy new week, everybody! 💜

And this is what one might say….is the best seat in the house! Another one lingering in the backlogs from the stunner of a sunset from the 4th of July, this scene with the people watching the sun kiss the horizon in grand fashion, from the south pier lighthouse pier, was the most dramatically perfect scene! On this day…..we celebrate beautiful scenery, and the art of capturing it. We recognize hard work (hard work that is also so much fun). Creativity - also, frankly and in my opinion, the best creative outlet in existence 😉 We recognize determination, persistence, exploring, adventure - and everything that comes with chasing down beauty.

We recognize the countless hours of practice and field time involved to gain experience and skill - because of course images that so many enjoy are not magically created by simply pressing a shutter button (and sure had heck not generated by an AI bot, or prompts doing all the work lol). Today, we celebrate the art of photography - and the hard work of photographers who create that art!

Happy World Photography Day to my fellow photographers! And to the amazingly wonderful people who support my photography, I can never thank you enough! Here are 19 images - all favorites of mine, and some not yet shared! 🩷😉📸
