One thing I’m grateful for today? the sun.

As the days grow shorter and colder, I realize just how much I need those bright, shining rays of vitamin D. Truth is, being a cheerful person isn’t always easy— sometimes, my own energy needs recharging so that I can keep giving. And, for me, that fuel is the sun.

I know the cloudy days make us appreciate the sunny ones. With Michigan getting colder, grayer, and darker with each passing day, it makes the sunny days feel even more special to me than they did before.

So here’s my reminder to all of you: soak in the sun, listen to the birds, and enjoy the crisp fall air—it’s the season’s last gift before the world goes silent for winter.

Oh, boy! Here we go again… Marathon training 2.0! This time around, I’m not sure if I should be jumping for joy or laughing at the sore muscles, tough workouts, and endless days with my massage gun. Now that I’ve done this rodeo before, it’s time to push things to the next level. Staying in the comfort zone never made anyone stronger—and running is no exception.

I know there will be tough days, days where training feels impossible. But learning to push through those rough runs, to embrace the imperfections, is what truly makes you stronger. With persistence, patience, and a lot of discipline, I believe a sub-3-hour marathon is within reach.

Can’t wait to take you along for every high and low, showing just how capable we all are! 🏃‍♀️💪

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

One thing many of us take for granted is the freedom to choose. We’re often so caught up in the daily grind that we forget we have control over most of what we do. Even when life throws us a curveball, we can still choose how we respond.

The mind is a powerful tool. If we don’t control it, it can start to control us. Every day, we get to decide who we want to be, what we want to be remembered for, and why we’re striving toward those goals. Will we act from a place of love, empathy, or maybe even pride?

Sure, not everything is in our control. For instance, as the weather turns gray and chilly in Michigan, my heart aches for the warm sunshine of the South. But while I can’t control the weather, I can control how I handle it. Will I let it bring me down, or will I stay strong and keep my head up?

We may not always be able to control life’s challenges, but we always get to choose how we handle them. Every day, every hour, we decide how we spend our time—and I want to spend mine for good.

One of the most commonly asked questions I get is, “How do you stay so motivated?” For a long time, I didn’t have a clear answer. I might have said something like, “I don’t know—it’s just in my blood.” But after paying close attention to my daily habits and reflecting on my inner thoughts, I discovered three key things that help me stay motivated:

1. Setting goals—Not just big, long-term ones, but small, daily goals too. These little steps make the bigger picture more manageable and keep me on track every day.

2. Starting my day off right—For me, that means eating a balanced, filling breakfast and hitting the gym first thing. Taking care of my body early in the day sets the tone for a productive workday.

3. Passion—When I focus on things that excite and inspire me, staying motivated becomes so much easier.

That said, I’m not always motivated. I’m not always perfectly driven or efficient, and that’s okay. I’ve learned it’s normal to have off days—those times when you feel like nothing went right. But it’s those tough days that make us truly appreciate the good ones.

The long-awaited moment finally arrived—after three weeks, running and the open road became familiar once again. There was excitement, but also a bit of fear—what if the rhythm of running had been forgotten? It seemed unlikely for someone who’s used to logging 50+ miles a week, but the uncertainty was definitely still there.

On October 6, at 6:00 PM, the moment came: a brand new set (which, btw, is my absolute new fav running outfit! I understand why GymShark people never come back now 😂), new Shockz headphones, and a set to ‘run’ mode. The first steps felt a bit strange, but soon, a smooth 7:40 pace settled in, surrounded by the sounds of nature. Though it was only two miles, it was a powerful reminder of why the love for running never fades. The start is always the hardest part, but it’s finally here. And, I can’t wait to dive into this marathon training block born as a newer, stronger, better runner. 🏃‍♀️🫶

PS: the windburn was definitely starting to hit towards the end of taking these pics. Gotta love fall! 😂🍁

Well, friends, after much thought, I’ve decided to stay in Michigan until January to focus on my goals and save some extra money (because, let’s face it, Florida rent isn’t cheap!). This decision wasn’t easy, but sometimes the hardest choices are the ones that lead us to our biggest dreams. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that sacrifice and discipline are key to reaching financial freedom. Will staying in the snowiest parts of Michigan be a challenge? Yes. But I’m committed to pushing through, knowing that every difficult moment is bringing me closer to my mission.

Recipe for Long Run Success:

Ingredients:
- Shoes 👟
- Nutrition 🍯
- Rest 😴

Instructions:
1. Start with a pair of good shoes (non-negotiable).
2. Add in nutrition—I didn’t even realize you had to EAT during a run until I started marathon training!
3. After researching ALL the options, I found : simple ingredients (my sensitive stomach is grateful), real honey as the main fuel, and it works like magic!
4. Now, after a year of using their products, I’m excited to share that I’m officially an ambassador! 🎉

Well, let’s just say I’ve officially joined the “super-shoes” club! Although I didn’t plan on leaving with a pair of these fun, fast Saucony Endorphin Pro 3’s, sometimes resistance is futile. After two speed workouts, I can confirm—they’re as magical as everyone says. Not only did they stabilize my feet, but they also made running feel effortless and fast. The best part? My work pace was a whole 40 seconds quicker! Now, I can’t wait to hopefully sport these for a winter Boston Qualifier. Here’s to fast feet and a running shoe addiction! 🤪🏃‍♀️❤️

You never truly know what you or your body is capable of until you try. After 16 weeks of dedication, determination, and discipline, I crossed the finish line of the Grand Island Marathon in Munising, MI on July 27th at 10:42 AM. There were extreme highs and lows on the trail, with massive hills, rocky paths, and a never-ending beach stretch. Despite it all, we made it with a smile! 😅

Thank you for your the love and support throughout this entire journey! I couldn’t have done it without all you!! 🥰

Finish time: 3:42.
Placement: 1st for gender, 2nd overall
