Every day I am so thankful for my job, my clients, and all of you that continuously hire me to document your lives.
It truly is a large source of joy within my life. To be able to create for a living is something I always dreamed of when I was younger but never knew if it was attainable.

Never settle for just an income. Find something that fuels you and work every day to get there.

bonjour à tous!

It's been a crazy time over here and it's only going to get more crazy [lol].
September and October are always my months of grind, and with my university starting up again, it only gets a bit more chaotic.

Not only that but I have several fine art gallery openings coming as well. Next week on the 17th [ artist opening ], and 18th [ public opening ], I juried a show and am also installing a piece from my 'smell the flowers' work in Petoskey at the . That same day, ironically, I have an opening in Barcelona for .projects hosted at the that includes my work from 'Honey you're getting older,' and my 'lost americana' series.

Next month I have an exhibition outside of the Musée du Louvre at the Carrousel du Louvre in which 2 of my landscape pieces will be for sale. I actually am going to that opening, and I have been studying French extensively for 3 months now [lol].

Beyond that I have classes I am teaching during the week, weddings I am photographing on the weekend, and my lovely cats, and spouse, I am so lucky to spend my time with.

I am so excited to share my opening exhibition images with you, as well as my work from travel and the art I am creating for families and couples. It's been one hell of a ride these last 18 years, I cannot believe all that has come from practicing this art every single day. Beyond grateful.

First off, let me start out by saying that Brunch weddings are superior and if I could make this my entire niche of photographing I would. The day is just so relaxed, much more affordable for couples, and the evening is then left to however the couple wants to spend it. I have had a few brunch weddings in my life, and they ALWAYS leave me so refreshed, inspired and so happy.

These two contacted me awhile back to photograph them, and I was so so honored since they are both such talented artists. Their quaint and intimate wedding offered so much peace and impact left among their family and friends. They enjoyed small moments while getting ready together, then before the ceremony began we got to make such beautiful art around the GRAM.
After the ceremony we strolled onto Social Misfits, where they got to spend one on one time with each and every one of their guests.

I focused on so many intimate relationships, laughter, crying, and got to document the spaces as they were. I photographed film, polaroids, and digital and I had the time of my life. Thank you both for allowing me to show up for you today.

[brunch weddings are also cool because I have time to come home and throw up my feelings with a beautiful sneak of their day].

I've been 2nd shooting for many photographers this year, and what's so beautiful about the role is that, although I do lead in some portraits, I get to utilize my documentary photography skills. I adore focusing on true moments that the 1st photographer can't capture due to their obligations and portraits they have to capture during specific times in the day.

This summer, I had the pleasure of working with my dear friend Lynzee Harrison Photography , a beautiful soul who respects the skill of photography and its creators.

I'm selective about who I shoot for, as I don't appreciate it when photographers take their 2nd's work and post it as their own without accreditation. I personally don't post my 2nd's work, especially as a main image, without giving them credit. It's like watching someone bake a cake and claiming you made it just because you pulled it out of the oven. This kept me from working with others for a very long time, but as I get older, and the longer I've been in this industry, the more that I realize I pretty much have done it all [lol] and I do not need to boost my portfolio any more. However, I love going through the images I took for these days and finding true moments that were unplanned, that just fill the space with memory and feeling.

Until this year, I only shot for one friend, but it's been fun to anticipate connection and emotion during events. Throughout the years, I've learned that photography is about capturing 'THE' moment - the burst of laughter, the tear down the face, the unplanned embrace.
There are many more memories to be documented and families to provide for.

Thanks to those who continuously hire me to do the work for them [families, portrait sessions, you name it], and to my friends and fellow photographers who trust me to capture these special moments with them on big wedding days!
